Philips HR2358/06 $279 (Was $429) + More Deals @ Costco (Membership required)

140

Thought I would post up the Costco catalogues for people who are interested. As always, Costco membership can be abandoned, and you get your money back, at any time during the year. Also, if you don't like a product you can take it back and get a refund. I think there is a date limit on electrical stuff.

Until 31st of March

The one in Docklands also had these for $10.00 in the scratch and dent area in brown and grey.

The highlights, to me, were;
- the pasta maker at $279.
- the set of three reading glasses for $19.
- the travel pillow for $10

  • I think Choice liked their hot cross buns. $7.99 for 24 buns.
  • Eneloop recharge battery set $31.99

  • Not sure why second link isn't showing up as a link, if I cut and paste it does lead to the site.

  • Waiting to see their Dyson V11 price… hopefully they bring it in below $1000, maybe same price point as v9.

    • Sometimes Costco can a bit "behind the times" with their selections. You can only get the iWatch Series 3 at the moment. What I do like is when they dump a product they can be pretty savage in the cuts. I'm pretty sure I saw that travel pillow at $20, previously.

      • True, but they have been pretty much on the ball with Dyson products. According to past experience, V7, V8, V9 and V10 was pretty much in store at Costco within a few weeks after release.

So i would expect V11 to come in pretty soon too.

    • I love going to Costco they have the nuttiest things there. One day I saw a full size rubby duckie; as in those blow up rescue boat things. One thing we got, that was actually quite useful, was a big bag you can put your Christmas tree in; it has wheels at the bottom to help you move it around, and cost $40. It is just perfect for storing excess blankets etc over Summer.

They'll get you back with the $400 worth of toilet paper, mayonnaise and meat that'll you inadvertently buy when you're there.

Nah, we don't have enough storage space for that. But, man you see people with the full trolleys. We rock up with our bottle of Sangria ($11 for 1.5l), and bits and bobs, and they are shovelling $700 of produce through the till. Some things are quite cheap, provided you have space to store them - e.g tinned tomatoes, legumes etc. Got one mixed 24 can set of legumes with tins of lentils, chick peas and kidney beans. Works well for adding a bit of fibre to a Chilli Con Carne. But who the hell needs 2 litres of Tahini in one go.

        • The giant tins of dolmades are a trap for young players too. I can't remember if they are 2kg or 5kg but it took me a long time to get through the tin on my own!

          • @rodericb: sounds Like dolmades aversion therapy to me. I love the Ghirardelli brownie mixes but you get 6 packets in a box.

We paid around $1600 for the one for our kids a few years ago

      • what is your recommendation, are they any good?

        • +1

Taking them to a park is cheaper.

          • @RSmith: But then you have to supervise them.

          • +1

@RSmith: But you can sit on the back deck with a rum and watch em, you cant do that at the park

        • The new ones at costco are much better, but the kids love it. The one we have only has the spiral slide, not the additional slides

          • @asa79: They look like ClimbingFrames and I'm about 80% certain they are the same, just rebranded (and possibly different models). We bought ours from ClimbingFrames and its been great, however the brackets holding our spiral slide have cracked and they 'are covered under only one year warranty' - replacements are $20 per half piece I'm told. Considering we need at least half a dozen, not impressed with having to pay a tenth of the price after just over a year to keep it 'safe'.

Anyone know how much the Dyson V7 comes down to? I'm keen.

    • $397. $569 is regular price.

      • I think Good Guys has a similar price.

        • Yeah they do, $399. Was hoping it would be $172 off what most others are selling it for. $397 is rubbish.

Tried their hotcross buns and love them :) Only problem is that I cant finish them all and they have quite a short expiry period :(

    • Yeah it was like $8 for 24 with a 3 day expiry!

    • Freezer!

      • Yup, freeze them and then cook as needed, either that or give your workmates a treat.

    • Don’t be fool by their short expiry date, it meant to makes you consume more and faster. You don’t even need to put in the freezer right away, it should keep fine on your fridge for two weeks. With all the shorterner they add to the buns it will act as preservatives too.

      • The thing to watch is when some of the raisins fly away.

  • It might be useful to mention what the item is, rather than just the product number.

    Good price, nonetheless.

  • Decent price on the pasta maker. Got a HR2357 a little while back for $150, kinda wish I got the HR2358 now if only for the extra attachments.
The 57's 1.2mm pasta sheet attachment is too thick, and the 0.8mm one included with the 58 seems impossible to buy separately at a reasonable price.

    • Sometimes Myers has a 20% off for the die packs. I also have the HR2357 and we bought the Chinese pack for the Angel hair die. I use it a lot. You did well to get it for $150.

      • Yeh, they have 20% off at the moment actually, but unfortunately they don't carry the HR2435 part.
