Thanks, I got a 128gb to replace an iPhone 6.

you won't regret it! try using the full screen mode by removing the virtual buttons and just using gestures instead. makes the phone quite special

      • I'm going to follow the LTT guide to put lineage OS on it, it's for my wife.

        • may i ask why? something to do with removing bloatware?

          • @belongsinforums: Just to get rid of the default interface, Lineage looks a lot less annoying.

@Mechz: fair enough. i havent had any issues with miui yet, althought there is questionable bloatware on it

            • @Mechz: Why not use the Pixel or Google Now launcher?

MIUI has its benefits. Least of which is turning the phone on for the alarm to go off.

        • Just keep in mind that flashing third party roms will cause Widevine to default back to L3, which will prevent HD video playback in apps like Netflix/Prime Video

          • @Tyrx: As long as youtube and spotify work, it's fine.

            • @Mechz: You can choose to hide root from apps with magisk I'm rooted and Netflix works fine once I hide root from it

      • What’s your opinion in comparison to the iPhone 6 Plus? Mine is so slow…
I have a xiaomi laptop and I’m pleasantly surprised. Considering replacing the 6 Plus with a Xiaomi but need longevity out of the phone.
Switching from IOS to Android is also a consideration. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Wife just replaced her 6 plus with a p20. She adjusted quickly. This phone is very similar except for the camera

I made the switch to the Poco a couple weeks ago from the Samsung S6 which in some areas has better features, but as a complete package, the Pocophone blows it out of the water. As long as you aren't an NFC user, this phone is superior to most flagships prior till 2016 and competes with phones in the current year. Speed wise, this thing is the fastest mobile device I've ever used, and have never noticed any lag with day to day use. Another thing to mention is that I have never seen my battery below 60% (the battery is awesome).

        • You'll find that the poco is going to be much faster and reliable than the iPhone
. I swap from the iPhone 8 Plus.. to Poco .. and i wont be going back to Apple. Battery last me two days.. and its just so much easier to use with the gestures on miui 10 . I did try the custom roms
. But the gestures wasnt as good as the miui .
Also if you mod the google camera.. it will be better than stock.

        • You might get the performance back if you replace the battery

        • Switched from iOS to Android (Moto) after 5 years with iPhones… took me 2 days to adjust.
Only thing I miss is iTunes worked flawlessly as I store all my music locally on the phone and android apps just dont seem as smooth

    • Can see why a lot of people hold on to 6 plus. It was the last value for money iPhone. Nowadays it's waste of money and no bargain

Switch to Android is the best choice

  • Could anyone recommend a Xiaomi phone with a great camera and no notch in the display? Do any Xiaomi phones come with a camera that is almost in the same league as phones like the Samsung S9+, Pixel 2 XL etc? Thanks.

QANTAS points do not work if using Discount Codes or Vouchers Nor from qantas according to T&C's - or do they? Anyone received points anyway?

I used code and voucher a few weeks ago but purchase is still 'pending' on the Qantas site (like Cashrewards used to) so don't know how strict those T&C's checking gets applied.

  • Got the 128GB version from the same listing for $399 a few days ago via eBay UK. Should arrive some time this week.

Phone would be perfect if it had NFC

    • +3

and Band 28, according to OZB.
Sadly xiaomi will never give you the perfect phones…….

      • +2

Meh I don't see band28 as a problem at all. NFC is though.

    • Hence oneplus 6 is better

  • +5

I would get it but no NFC is a deal breaker for me. Gonna wait it out til the one plus 6 goes

    • Yeah NFC about to be even bigger deal break for those in Melbourne. Myki for Android is launching this week. https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/tickets/myki/mobile-myki/

      • Oh god. Another reason for me to live there!

      • Damn, If I knew about that I probably would have got something with NFC.

  • I tried using the code and its not working!!! Anyone else having issues with the code.
