      thing is normally if you have budget for i9 9xxx level pc, you won't choose this micro atx though this is x299

  Are there any older Xeon CPUs that would play nice with this under $300 with 6/8 cores and can be OCed?

  I've been a bit out of the loop, but I remember the 1366 platform with DDR3 had a lot of great Xeon 6 core chips that could be OCed and were dirt cheap.
