The enamel interior chipped away the first time I used mine (Ivy Green 3.8L).

We organised a replacement through Kogan… and the same thing happened.

    • thank you letting me know before I place an order.

    • Were you using metal utensils?

      • Nope!

      Any postage for replacement/ returns?

This has never happened to my Le Crusset Set. Well. I guess you get what you paid for.

How did you manage to do that?? I bought one on the last deal (in December I think?) and have cooked 20+ meals in it no worries at all.

I'm a big advocate for this, and was seriously thinking of spending 10-15x as much for Le Creuset. Cooks really nicely, and the grill pattern on the lid is great also. Cleans up really easily too, still looks brand new.

        Just lucky, I guess?

I seriously have no idea. I must have just received a couple of lemons.

        • Hmm fair enough! :(

Just to add a further 'they're not all bad quality' anecdote, I also bought one for my mother in law for Christmas who also uses it all the time no dramas. Both were red 5.7L ones (KCPI60CRER).

@ajole: It could have been a quality control issue since we had the 3.8L Ivy Green (both times). Who knows…

In contrast the one I bought about 14 months ago has been excellent. No chips, easy to clean. Haven't used the griddle lid thing as it seems odd to put a lot on top of a gas cooker.
    Makes a great butter chicken

is 3.8L bigger enough to cook a whole chicken?

I got a 5.7L one, I have to cut the 2.5kg duck's neck to fit in. Inside ∅25.5cm, height 12cm. I hope this can help you.

  • Black sold out. Only almond cream left.

    • Thanks have updated OP.

  • That sucks all the 5.7 ones are sold out ☹️
