    What does the PDS say?

  • I think Citi introduced it.

They stopped offering this insurance a while ago, but existing card holders before the change will still have it.

    • To add to this, 28D has a similar price protection also underwritten by Latitude. It has it's pros and cons, but the biggest pro is that it's still available to new card holders.

Coles is 24 month, from same store as purchase was made from, up to $600 per item.
28D is 12 month, from any Australian store, up to $1000 per item.

28D also has higher annual overall limit of claims but can't remember exact figures. I would use Coles to purchase items that are only sold in that store (e.g. clothes from Myer). 28D would be good for electronics that drop in value quickly or there are frequent sales and are sold at a multiple stores which compete against each other.

      • 28D also has a 1 year merchandise protection as opposed to Coles 6 months, great if you get a phone but you have butterfingers :D

They have stopped offering the awesome Latitude ones to new customers, so I guess I will never cancel my cards now. They have brought up a new set of insurance since the Citi takeover. Quite different, offers warranty cover but doesnt seem to cover price
