  • Great price, bought one two weeks ago,RRP $41 + shipping fee from Tmall Australia

    • Are they any good?

      • I did not use the smart function. It is very good.

      • 12 hours Temperature control time via App
        Save electricity bills :p

Voice control,if you have Mijia Ai speaker or Mijia Xiaoai voice broadcast

    • How did you get it past the official forwarder?

Electrical items are embargoed from the official forwarders.

      • Directly Consolidation from china via transport company 4px

  • can you adjust the temp directly on the kettle or only on app? Assume it only comes in white?

    • on the kettle you only can choose boiling or keep warm, no temp adjustment on the kettle itself.
      And yes, White only

    • I have the kettle. It has 2 buttons. 1 for boiling and 1 custom. The custom is set via the app. Without the app the button will do the last function. You can also set it to not keep warm with the app if I remember correctly.

  • Will this got some black charred on the bottom of the kettle (inside water part) just like my current Breville?

    • Are you referring to mineral deposits (brown/black stuff) at the metal plate? If so, I usually insert lemon peels or some white vinegar and boil it. They come off very easily.

      • Yes that ones. Thanks will try. So it is common for every kettles…?

        • That's limescale.

Use filtered water and it will reduce the effect. Otherwise descale it or boil some vinegar.

  • +1

I know Xiaomi has pretty good products on the whole, but does this product comply with Australian standards? Are people comfortable having something draws so much current without knowing it's safe here? Especially with the smart features that keep it hot etc.

    • Wondering the same, but some would argue that it is alright considering it has many safety features.

Personally I would buy something certified locally though, even if it cost double. I think the going rate for similar items is $100 from what I've seen in the Chinese newspapers.

Although, the most problematic part of the kettle is usually if the handle separates from the rest of the kettle or if there is leakage.

      • Or if the thermal protection doesn't work and it melts onto your bench and burns the house down…
I rate Xiaomi electronics but for something like a kettle that pulls so much current it can be really risky. The power boards are also a worry. Power boards are a major cause of fires.

    • I bought a kettle locally (breville or a brand like that) between 5 and 10 years ago and the base of the kettle was susceptible to short circuit when water was on kitchen bench. So there might have been a small amount of water that had spilt from the nearby sink and was under the base of the kettle. I think that might have been an electrocution hazard. Anyway, my point is, even locally bought stuff can be shit. I feel like the circuitry at the base of any kettle should be sealed better.

  • attention:the votage is 220v,
I find two links for this kettle, one is 49.95 another one is 42.61. can you explain ,what's the difference?
I need a a power sockets, do you have this on specical? I can see you have 6 sockets one is $31 dollars. will you have this on special?

    • 42.61 is not for AU, it says "We're sorry, this item is not available in your country yet." It is for different country.
Currently no special for the power strip

    • +1

220v normally means 220-240v. Sometimes states as 230v.

AC voltage is sinusoidal. It will go up and down by 10.

  • Is this the EU version or the China version?

    • on the kettle it shows Chinese, But the plug the AU standard plug.

      • Just to confirm, does it look like this with the insulated L/N pins, and not just an upside down Chinese plug?

        • yes,the plug is same as your pictures. the quality is good, but just attention, the voltage is 220v. I had a basic one, it works in 240v and it's good loolking than many other australian brand. but it may slowly damage the product.

          • @sszjy: There were two, which one were you referring to? And no, 240V will not slowly damage your 220V equipment.

        • it is the upside down Chinese plug

  • Thanks, got one.

Any plans to get some of the larger Xiaomi items in the future? Would love the smart massage chair, but it's only popped up once in the past

    • if there is a group buy from Oz bargain, I am happy to consider it.

  • Can the app detect how full the jug is? Don’t want to be remotely boiling an empty jug.

    • i don't think it is that smart

      • Oh hmm thought it would just detect the weight inside the jug to detect it.

      • So I get $44.90 when I try and go through the checkout.

Any specials on the xiaomi thermometer or the umbrella?
