Huawei P30 $988.20 | P30 Pro $1438.20 (Bonus Sonos One Smart Speaker) + Delivery (Free for eBay Plus) @ Mobileciti eBay

630
PLOT10

P30 is a great phone for the price, with triple rear cameras, in-screen fingerprint sensor and new 7nm chipset.

The P30 Pro is a photography beast and the #1 phone on DxOMark. It comes with three of the best rear phone cameras currently available plus a ToF (distance) sensor. The 5x telephoto camera is particularly impressive.

Both phones get a bonus Sonos One by redemption. Should be able to sell it for around $200 if unneeded.

Note: This is for preorder with delivery around 16/4. Both phones are dual-sim.

Can you think of a better slogan, like…'Make the CIA great again'?

    • -1

So far, american gov still has not have solid evidence to prove that.

Can you please give us some evidence to support your statement?

  • Nice phone
Dose it have ip58,any big difference between ip68

    • +1

No, neither has IP58. They have either IP53/IP68.

  • +2

the pro looks like an absolute boss. it would suck coughing up 1400 for it and losing or breaking it, though.

  • Does anyone know where to find demo units? Would JB Hi-Fi have them?

    • +1

They did at my local last weekend

      • Thank you

  • -4

are you able to actually sell that speaker for 300? 250 is more realistic, comes in at 750 after selling speaker

    • +1

Yeah I said you can sell it for $200, not $300..

  • +1

i want this phone, but dam the colours are ugly.

    • +1

you can always put a skin on them

    • +1

Slap a case on it. Done!

  • +1

So tempting to get the Pro model.. hmmm..

  • Pro not worth $500 premium. Bet people will realise this once released and prices will come crashing

    • +1

And I like the size of the p30 much more.

    • +3

For the periscope x5 optical zoom it is.. Considering people pay that much for SLR lens to get 18-200mm..

      • I can’t remember the last time I used zoom on my mobile

        • +2

That's because the zoom has never been decent on the mobile until this one. Hence you might want to start using it on trips / holidays / events where you can't get close to the subject but still take some very nice shots.
Having said that though, I think I will wait for this to come down to <$1000 and I'll pull the trigger. Need to replace my work iPhone 6S with it.

          • @bchliu: Yes. I’m coming from iPhone 7 Plus. Need to switch to Android. Apples just not trying anymore. I actually dislike the curved edges on the pro same as the s10. Non pro feels great just like a iPhone X without the $1500 tag

          • @bchliu: It might be a long wait, even Mate 20 Pro isn't below $1000 yet.

  • Yet to see if the camera performance is the same as the Pro. Anyone know?

    • +1

Main camera performance is pretty much identical except for OIS. Zoom after 5x, no contest.

      • -1

No OIS on the non-Pro kills it. OIS is so important for night/low light shots.

        • -1

Nah the EIS on these is great. Mate 20 Pro doesn't have OIS on main camera and was best at night shots before this came out.

          • @Ryballs: https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_mate_20_pro-review-1845p6.ph…

"This is where the Night mode comes in. It will produce some pretty stunning results, even if it has its limitations. It creates pseudo long exposures by stacking multiple frames gathering light along the way. We're talking three-, sometimes five-second-long hand-held exposures which would otherwise result in a blurry mess. Those are not always keepers and you still need to have a reasonably steady hand, but you'll be getting usable photos in situations you'd otherwise get none. The phone also does a remarkable job of retaining color where others would lose saturation."

The lack of EIS kills the Mate 20 Pro. Results are good only if you are on a tripod or "reasonably steady hand" using 3-5 second exposures.

He's saying you would get a blurry mess on other phones without frame stacking. With the Mate 20 Pro all you need is a reasonably steady hand and you will get some great night shots. You don't need a tripod.

As I own one, I can show you samples of some amazing night photos I took just by hand. Usually about 2/3 come out great, which is fine with me. Despite lacking OIS, the Mate 20 Pro/P20 Pro/P30 are still some of the best phones for low light.

Edit: Here's a Mate 20 Pro night shot I recently took by hand

Even night macro shots using the wide angle camera turn out great

        • +1

The P30 can go up to 200000 ISO. At that sensitivity, you almost don't need long exposures.

  • +1

Don't know if need the upgrade from my P20pro…

    • +1

I wouldn't. I suspect most people tend to skip a generation these days due to smaller incremental improvements, more frequent model releases and price rises all over.

      • Thanks for the reply. I'll wait to see if the price goes down a little. I do intend to hand down my p20pro to my brother :)

        • P30 has a much better chipset than the P20 Pro but is just a minor upgrade otherwise, whereas P30 Pro is a significant upgrade.

          • +3

@Ryballs: The p30 camera is a significant upgrade for low light.

  • +1

    Get the Pro instead.

  • Overseas trip coming thinking of p30 pro but don't think I will get it too expensive.

Will get new laptop with that price

  • +1

Excited to get onto this from iPhone 7 Plus.
    Anyone else going from iOS?

    • I’m coming from an 8 plus. But afraid I couldn’t transition well into it.

      • Same I tried getting onto S9 when it was released. Loved iOS too much but Apple is really pushing it with their prices and I need a better camera

  • just ordered pro for my wife, hope she like it.

  • Anyone got cold feet and cancelled? Bad timing for me. I'm flying on 15th so can't get TRS :(
