  • I've got two of these pans, or similar ones, and they're great. Had them for 5 to 10 years and they're still amazing.

  • Can these be used on Induction stoves?

    • Found it…

For anyone who was wondering (like me) … this looks like it matches what is on offer … two pans (20cm and 28cm), same RRP, currently selling for $179 (RRP $469 as in OP) …

    https://www.kitchenwarehouse.com.au/Scanpan-Classic-2pc-Fryp…

    • Can get it slightly cheaper on ebay using a promo code.

      • Would've been cheaper to just grab 2 of those cheap Scanpan from TGG a week ago. Compatible with induction stove too.

    • So 10 year warranty, Made in Denmark. Ceramic surface on aluminium.

Hope they don't pull a shifty, and substitute lower quality or warranty.

Are the pans good for frying the YellowTail?

  • +1

Anyone know if the pans are the non-stick variety??

I have S/S Scanpans & prefer them over non-stick, eventually the coating wears off in ur food…

    • +1

From the Yellow Tail Redemption Page, they appear to be Non-Stick

      • Aha, cheers @RichardL, didn't think of clicking the links from the First Choice page…

    • I don't think the Scanpan non stick surface wears off. My own experience with them, though, is that certain foods build up a residue which is hard to get off and makes it seem like the non stick isn't working. A batch of pancakes does a pretty good job of cleaning them up, as does a clean with a cream cleaner like Gumption.

I've tried Scanpan, Baccarat and a few others and they all seem good to start with but Scanpan seems to last the distance better.

      • I know wot ur saying but rather not risk eating Teflon or similar non-stick products, hence y we opted for the S/S variant of Scanpans (around 10yrs old now)..

I have recently converted to cast iron pans now though, much better cooking results & they're the original non-stick…!

      • We've had several ScanPans over the years…after a while they stop being non-stick and ScanPan don't replace them…cast iron seems to last longer

  • How do we upload for online purchase?

Attach emails, or do they want screeshots?

    • +1

I sent them a pdf of the email receipt and they seemed happy with that.

      • I cut and pasted the email as a text file and that was rejected . Thanks for the tip .

  • Is the wine any good?

    • I haven't heard one person say a good thing about it…
other than it's cheap enough on sale
      but i think i'm buying…cheap pans lol

    • It was a big brand in the US some years ago.
Many an expat Aussie enjoyed it.

  • Scanpan pan are good but they get carbon build up and lose their nonstick. When you go to warranty them they tell you to clean with bicarb which works temporarily somewhat before it builds up again and they are not nonstick anymore.

  • Has anyone received their pans yet?

    • Not I .

    • Arrived. Danish. Good.
No warranty card though, so seems no manufacturer warranty.
Good luck chasing VCG Promorisk Pty Ltd if anything goes wrong.

      • Mine arrived today . Seem to be fairly good quality .

  • Mine arrived also.
You can still claim warranty on Scanpan without warranty card - they can tell how old the unit is from the bottom of the pan.
    Anyway - great success for $50! :)

    • I doubt these were sourced from the authorised Australian distributor, so you'd need to claim from the seller.

      Scanpan Australia says:

The product warranty shown on or in its packaging is provided by Sheldon & Hammond Pty Ltd

Not that we are likely to need it.
