They come with S logic technology

S-Logic® Plus profits directly from innovations developed for our flagship Edition range, the ultimate headphones for critical listening. This sophisticated new technology combines precision dampening with micro-acoustic reinforcement, allowing driver, buffer-board, and spatial parameters to complement one another in an optimal manner. So the acoustically redesigned ear-cups of these new models and their tonal fine-tuning result in a most neutral sound impression with more vivid perception of voices and instruments.

How does S-Logic® Natural Surround Sound work?

S-Logic® sends music around your head not just into it, because this technology uses decentralized driver positioning. Did you know that you use and need the outer ear for your three-dimensional understanding to define the direction and distance where a sound comes from? Instead of hitting the inner ear directly, with S-Logic® the signals are reflected off the surface of the outer ear in different directions before entering the auditory canal to create a natural three-dimensional Sound. S-Logic® is the only headphone system which includes your entire sense of hearing. S-Logic® does not change your personal hearing, it intensifies it for your individual needs and listening pleasure. S-Logic® does neither need artificial echo nor digital sound processing or cross over run time delay. You can hear the sound just the way the sound engineer has mastered it.

S-Logic® does not only create a Natural Surround Sound sensation. S-Logic® allows at the same time a reduction of sound pressure levels at the eardrum by up to 40% (3 - 4 dB). This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening.

    Er … wut?

Then it claims to bounce sound off the users ear parts, like any other headphone, only this creates a 3D effect, just like virtual surround processing with normal headphones … except there's no digital sound processing going on is the claim.

i dont know about all the jargon but the USP of ultrasone from what I know is that they dont place their drivers right in the middle of the cups.

They claim its because our ears dont sit in the middle so they place the driver where they think its best for sound

    • Yup. The same deal is back. I was the one who posted it as well.

  • I find it hard to believe that they are better than the sennheiser momentum 2.0's AND DT770 lol.

Both of which are double the price?

  • Are these headphones good for csgo? I was thinking of getting these headphones or the hyper x alpha.

I bought these because of the brand, hoping for a magical sound for $100. So… I've played them in for 3 days nonstop with loud bassy music. I believe that's a fair break-in time. Right now, they are unbalanced, being bass heavy, made worse by flabby bass. They are laid back which I don't mind but wish the bass was tighter. After EQ-ing down the bass they sound more balanced. Clarity is good (but laid back) but some details and separation are missing. Maybe ok for the money (and I can live with these) but don't expect a miracle high end sound just because it's Ultrasone. According to an accurate review (I agree with his opinion of the 820 and wish I'd read it before buying) this 820 model is the only one with the sloppy bass. (FYI I reference sound to my cheap hifi setups: basic Yamaha receiver, Pioneer FS52 or Paradigm Atoms; or cheap active MAudio speakers. That's not high end gear. You can decide whether that's a fair comparison.)

Update: After a wider range of listening and EQadjustments I still wish the bass was tighter, however, if I don't think too much about it, I still enjoy most of my music through these.

Update: (Updating my previous critical review in fairness to seller and manufacturer.) Testing now through Dragonfly Black v1.5 usb DAC in bypass setting in USB Audio Player Pro (no EQ or Android processing). I think these are good headphones and a bargain at $99. Very important: You must position the off-centre bass driver over your ear hole for tighter bass. Clear, warm, spacious, realistic sound and non fatiguing. Although bassy it could have more drive/punch. Mids and treble are clear but laid back. Overall very enjoyable, happy and will keep them. Thanks to poster.

  • I was going to get the Sennheiser HD 400s, but decided to take the plunge, and very happy with my purchase. To my this is ways better than the HD400s - i don't think i can get a better cans for less than $100. Yes the bass can be quite overwhelming, i reckon it needs a good amp to control it - as an example, it sounds so much better on my iPad compare to my Android phone. The clarity and the soundstage is breathtaking.
