lol. I thought this was a bundle of fuel/oil additives when I first saw it.
Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed.

The ad shows the John Riddoch is valued at $129.99

Good value (if you like Cab Sav) from a top brand. And Vintage Cellars has their free Wine Club membership to earn points for $ redeemable vouchers.

    • Ah yes, forgot to mention Wine Club, could probably even wait it out for 3x points activation if there's enough stock.

My local store offered the 2012 Vintage, thus varying prices on the JR.

What are the better vintages for coonawarra?

        • +1

          '10, '12, '13

          Back vintages: '06, '05, '98

But this would apply to the region in general and not the specific house.

  • Does anyone have a link to the DM match deal? Dan’s is closer for me.

Or is it in store only too?

It's a price match. So you either show them a receipt or that picture from cellar press, they will probably call up VC to confirm the deal since it involves a premium wine.

There's a bit of ambiguity with the JR vintage, so you'd want to lean them towards the pricier ones :) Having said that, JR only releases on quality years i.e. no '14, '11, '07 vintages, so it's a good drop regardless.

      • Thanks Sleepy :)

Luckily my wife happened to be driving past a vintage cellars. The store had run out of the JR, but was happy to give us the Michael shiraz instead.

While I prefer the JR, it’s my fav cab sav in the price range, getting 5 black label and 1 Michael for $160 is a massive bargain. I was able to get a 2012 (97 pt James H) and a 2015 (96 pt).

Great deal great cab too. Went to Coonawarra a couple of years ago and drove to wynns, love their cab vintage 10, 12 and 13. Grabbed a three pack of cab from wynns at 99 bucks for vintage 10, 12 and 13. And today when I saw this I rang all 3 Adelaide stores and they were all sold out. One Store was happy to offer me with 5 black label plus 1 michael. Then I rang up DM Glenunga store, the bloody staff said they are not gonna price match this since they don’t even have wynns JR. bloody liar.. I wouldn’t even bother to argue and just hang up..

  • My local VC in South Melbourne is getting JR stock on Monday.
I am going to head there on Monday and grab the offer x 2.

    An awesome deal.

  • Grabbed 10 bottles today and got a JR and a Michael.

Great buying - 5 bottles at the Dan Murphy 6 or more price and a bonus JR or in some stores a Micheal.

My Cab Savs were a mix of 2015 and 2016.

    • You managed to get a few 2015 Black Labels in the mix?

That's pretty awesome, those are very drinkable now.

  • Anyone know if this deal is still in stock?

    • Catalogue says deal ended 23 April

      • I managed to find some but with Michael Shiraz…very happy with this deal

        • I've picked up 5 JR '12, 2 JR '13, and 4 Michael '13, over the weeks just checking in to a few stores on the way home.

Store clerks told me they had people lining up at the door the day the deal came out, and they cleared a dozen at a time as there was no stated limitations. Probably bought up by online retailers like GWD, as they are suddenly selling similar products.

      • In the linked image it says available until 14/5? Either way my local VC was out of stock and said almost all are - but I might head into Dan Murphy's tomorrow to see if they can match.
