  Ikea doesn’t seem to have updated their website yet… still says that they just accept Visa and MasterCard…

    They definitely accept Amex; I've used it at both the Rhodes NSW and Richmond VIC stores within the last fortnight

    This is marketing. They have a set budget they are willing to hand out as discounts, which in this case would be $750,000. If they don't cap it, they would have to have a bigger budget.

  Got AmEx email right after purchase. After attendant's one time instruction, you can buy GCs without help.
