• Excludes Cathay Shop, Hotel Bookings, Flight + Hotel packages, Travel Insurance and Car rentals.
• Excludes payments made via third parties (including, but not limited to, travel agents, online aggregators or payment processors).
• Payment can be made with a combination of your American Express Card and Status Points and/or Asia Miles. However, only the amount charged to your Card will be valid for the offer.
• Valid for payments made by 31/05/2024 to be eligible for offer.

  Do they still check for the credit card used for the booking at check-in?

    The physical credit card used to pay for tickets must be presented by the cardholder for verification at check-in, or when collecting the tickets. Otherwise the cardholder must present the physical card used at the nearest Cathay Pacific Ticketing Office for verification prior to the flight departure.

    I've flown with them numerous times and never encountered this issue, nor have I ever been asked for the credit card used.

  Damn just booked Cathay redemption tickets for Japan Airlines business class seats. Paid about aud2k in taxes and fees so this deal would've been handy. Funnily enough Qantas FF had the exact same seats available for about 80% less in taxes and fees (but about 50% more points). Cathay carrier surcharges are unbelievable.

    no, in this case, Amex actually knows your ticket detail, eg: Oz departure, who, when, to where, fare class

    If they payment processor for the bids is the same as the one used on their booking engine, then yes. Otherwise most likely not.
