i would need to port it but if i port it before the plan ends woolworths might charge me a cancellation fee but then if i wait until it ends they will charge me for another month..
How do I keep my phone number when my Woolworths plan ends without having to pay for another month, and without any fees?

Prepaid plan is the way to go. Woolworths Mobile allows numbers active for 90 days without credits.
Change to the cheapest plan on your last day. Once you received your last bill, port out.
In your last month of your contract you will have $0 early termination fee. You can check that in the app.
On the main screen, click on your plan, then click on the link which says "Tap here to see your cancellation fee". If you are in the last month ETC should be $0 and remaining handset fee should be $0.
You're free to go.
If you're on a prepaid plan there is no cancellation fee. Otherwise yes there is a fee.
