Awesome deal, a step in the right direction for scooters to become legal in NSW!

    Trail?

  • Start from 14 apr to 30 jun

  • Looks cool! Can you share what this trial involves? Also are we allowed to ride around for an hour?

    • Where about?
Most of those things are illegal anywhere outside private property… :-(

      • Yes. See my above comment…

  • RRP?

Are they changing the laws in NSW?

Thought BNExt is a dodgy store

    • turns out your are 100% correct on that :-)

  • Thanks so much ! Free activities, luvin' it ! :-0

    • Update, thanks for letting me know this is not happening, very upsetting.

Didn't they pull this stunt in the park underneath Sydney Harbour Bridge and every trialist promptly received a fine for riding on footpaths? I remember watching the report on TV news.

    • There are just too many regulation nowadays. When I was young you can ride a pushbike without having to worry about cops giving you a hard time. Nowadays I can't even be bothered about owning one. Not allowed to ride it here not allowed to ride it there, too much headache. Soon you'll need to apply for a license and go for a test to ride a pushbike

  • Ahh… Isn't that address where that 3rd party Xiaomi/Huawei store is? I doubt they'll let you ride outside, there's a police station around the corner haha.

They have a 3x3m space for you to try in store every day.

  • Isn't this something you would do anyway before buying their product?

That's like JBHiFi saying 'free trial in store of all our in store demonstration stock - come in and try out our laptop keyboards for free!'

Made a day trip out of going there to try this and very disappointed. Nothing there at all, would not let us have a trial.

Really? I am cancelling the booking. Thanks for the update. :)

Yeah it's a Huawei phone shop. The guy didn't know a Segway trial was even being offered.
        Waste of time.

        • +3

same here… complete waste of time.
Had no idea about the event, no ebikes and just has a quick go on the scooter in the shop.

Looks like some sort of marketing thing gone wrong to get people into the shop.

    • Had a brief go when it was the Xiaomi store a couple of months ago. Hoping this is a 1 hour trial.

Just called up about my trial this Saturday and was told they don't intend to do it for the next two weeks due to Huawei mobile phone launch… Of course they haven't bothered to let people know yet… So if you're booked for this weekend or the next I wouldn't hold your breath.
Why create an event if your staff have no idea what's happening or you don't intend to honour the dates.

Just went to the store to double check as I had mine booked for 2pm. Apparently there's no trial running at all

  • +1

Damn this is lame. So basically - don't bother showing up by the sounds of it. The event now says Event Ended on eventbrite?

Same here, drove for an hour to take my kids and walked in Huawei shop and they said sorry cancelled. Wish I could revoke vote.
