Bosch Washing Machines

Hey ozbargainers,

It's time to get a decent washing machine. We had cheapies so far and I wanna buy a decent machine that lasts and gets the job done. We're a family of 4 and have quite the amount of washing that needs to be done.

My current choice would be this
Bosch WAW28460AU

https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/Bosch-8kg-front-loading-…

Would roughly a 1000 bucks be enough to get good and lasting quality? Or do I have to spend way more?
Does anyone have that model? The reviews look pretty good…

Thanks and happy Easter.

Nils

Should be alright, it's one of the german made ones which generally indicates it's more robust. We have a cheaper Bosch (made in Turkey?) which has been going alright the last few years.

  • I had a Samsung - it worked really well for 10yrs. Replaced it 2yrs back with Samsung again.

Only thing is buy 8kg load one. So things r easy on motor.

  • My brother also had this one for years and he recommend > Bosch 8kg Front Load Washer WAW28460AU.

We are looking at replacing our old F&P top loader with a front loader.Had a look at choice mag latest washing machine reviews the only slight negative with this machine is it wasn't as gentle on clothes as Bosch WAT24261AU which is german engineered & made in china .I am leaning towards Miele WDD030 at around $1500 free delivery & for a few $ more installed & they take the old one away.

    • I looked at that one too… What do you see as the big difference you get for an extra 500?
Yeah appliances online does delivery and takeaway for the Bosch as well… For 100 bucks less than the good guys sell it without delivery…

And did you buy the full choice mag review?

      • Read the review online thru a friends subscription it was dated February 2019 .Never owned a front loader before so that's why I wanted to read up on them .Main reason for Miele at this moment is water usage is very low & energy usage , gentle on clothes , customer satisfaction & reliability. Still not sure but if it's worth $1500.

  • I have that Bosch model, got for being made in Germany.

  • I had a Bosch front loader that I gifted to my brother in law maybe 2 years ago, it will be hitting the 10 year mark in September and still works great. We have another Bosh front loader that was my partners before we met, we kept that one as it was a slightly better model. But it's going strong also. When I worked at Myer over a decade ago, when they still had white goods, the Bosch were my favourites to sell, quality, price points for every budget, and never had any customers come back and complain.
