Just tried Perth to singapore, cheaper on scoot's own site by $38.

So I just had a look at Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City in July. For exactly the same Jetstar flight:
    With BudgetAir: $404 $369
    With Jetstar: $379

So I checked a few other random destinations and dates, all one way, comparing the cheapest BudgetAir price with the airline direct:

Flight BudgetAir Price Airline Price Difference booking with BudgetAir
SYD to HNL in Sept (Jetstar) $317 $282 $279 +$10
DRW to BKK in Nov (Jetstar) $238 $203 $200 +$3
MEL to AKL in May (Qantas) $246 $221 $239 -$18
OOL to SYD in July (Tiger) $108 $93 $90 +$3
PER to ADL in Aug (Virgin) $208 $193 $199 -$6

As you can see, even with the discount, BudgetAir can be more expensive than booking direct. Also, in all of the examples above you don't get the full discount ($15/$25/$35) compared to booking direct.

After looking at their Product Review page I would rather spend the extra few dollars and book with the airline direct.

  • And here I was thinking BudgetAir was a new airline….

  • I'm getting "This voucher code is not recognised. It may have expired or already been used."

    • Give them a call, I believe these are generic codes. If it still doesn't work I can forward the email that I received.
