[Expired] Planet Earth Blu-Ray ~ $14.51 (with Free Shipping) /~ $20.34 (with Shipping) at Amazon UK

300

Planet Earth: Complete BBC Series [Blu-ray][Region Free]

Everyone might have this now, but this is the new lower price.

Cost is $14.51 or £9.16 (with the VAT taken off) if you spend £25 or more, to get the free shipping. I would recommend buying something else to get this option.

Otherwise it is $20.34 or £9.16 + £3.68 = £12.84 (if bought by itself).

Amazon UK may change the price anytime.

  • Nice price. Can anyone confirm who has already bought this recently from Amazon UK whether this is comes in a plastic case or is a fold out cardboard thing. Ta!

    • +3

Fold out cardboard. I bought it from one of the previous deals.

      • Thanks for the quick reply :)

    • Fold out, and got to add, its a very well presented package, this may explain why its able to be sold at many retailers in Australia for around the $100 price, is a super deal at $14.50.

  • Any one can recommend other blu-rays to buy from Amazon UK?

The price of Red looks good, and The God Father, Alien Anthology and Pirates of the Caribbean are still good.

    • Depends on what you are after, if you like Planet Earth, you can look at Life, Nature's Greatest Events etc, they are all exceptional.

      • Thanks. Probably going to pick Life. Life + Planet Earth is just a bit more than £25.

I bought the Wild China, and think it is presented as well if not better than the Planet Earth one (which I also have). It shows the kind of things you don't normally hear about.
The planet earth one is well worth it at this price. Some of the footage is incredible.

      • Wild China is nice but the video quality was more like DVD quality :( Very soft image at the wrong moments (aka - the best scenery)

  • This has also recently dropped in price if you are into documentary:

Also just started watching Galapagos. It's really good and for two discs it's crazy cheap:

  • Do you have to make sure you select the ones that say "Region Free"?

    • No, any blu rays on Amazon UK (that doesn't say US import) will play fine here.

      • Cheers for the quick reply!
Now I can search for other blu rays to tip me over the £25 mark :)

  • just ordered one.thank you.

  • Is a worthy purchase… Some amazing footage!

the special edition is the better one yeh…..now the problems with that one are sorted , but still 18pound http://www.amazon.co.uk/Planet-Earth-Special-Blu-ray-Region/…

  • BUM! Literally ordered one a few days ago for 12.44GBP. But got free shipping with the Matrix trilogy which seems to have gone up a couple pounds so guess it evens out.

  • Bought Planet Earth - Special Edition [Blu-ray][Region Free] for £17.93 2days ago.
    Then this price appears….. Lost 7 pounds……

    • I reckon worth the extra, special edition has better quality and certain scenes issues are fixed, if u happen to receive an old copy, amazon will send you another one anyway. (just received mine, it is the updated copy)

Besides I remember during my research between the 2, the normal edition has its own share of dodgy transfers and special edition suppose to fix those problems, 2E can't be bothered to redo the normal one, that's why it is regularly discounted to clear stock….

  • I'm really loving Amazon.uk's blu-ray prices lately. I just ordered 11 blu-rays for <AUD$100 delivered. Some fairly recently releases in that too, like "RED", "The Social Network", "Salt", "Skyline" and "Robin Hood".

Kind of strange that we end up getting Blu-rays from the UK cheaper than people in the UK (thanks to VAT removal).

  • Is it worth paying the extra 4 pound for the special edition one?
    Thanks.

    • FYI- There were resolution issues with a particular release of the Special Edition - would want to make sure the available one is free of the defect

    • imo yes.. Special Edition is 10Mbit higher in video bitrate.

    • I was thinking about the special edition one.. but some of the comments about the blown contrast at a number of the scenes are a bit of a concern.

  • Planet Earth is old!

    • yeap, reaching EOL
      better pack your bags.

  • Guess they wanted to sell it cheap b4 the world blew up. oh wait…
