Vax VX58 Cordless SlimVac 18V Handstick Vacuum Cleaner $119 @ Target

60

I was looking for a decent cordless vacuum for spot cleaning and came across this. The VX58 has pretty good reviews. It looks to be low stock, Camberwell and Chadstone Vic appear to have some. For some reason the receipt shows it as VX53p, although it's marked as VX58 on both the box and website. Seems decent for the price.

  • I was looking at this but wondered about replacement batteries.

  • If anything goes wrong I recommend returning to Target as VAX did not answer my website warranty inquiry and their call centre is not much better. Of course your experience may differ.

    • I suspect, after 12 months, they will just tell me to go away.

    • I have also had a poor experience with their warranty service. Mine was with a regular vacuum that would over heat and shut down after about 10 minutes.

I sent it away and they sent it back still the same. When i complained i was told vacuums on average run for about an hour a week but not necessarily for a continuous hour.

saw this, it might be the battery I'm looking for.

    • Pic of the battery if it helps - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fPkV4jlj71Ohxeik_rhOMUCqQcA…

The battery you linked is not the correct one, this vacuum is 18V.

It will have 5 x 18650 cells inside it, you would be able to rebuild it with quality, high drain Samsung 2500 or 3000 mAh batteries for about $50 if you're handy with a soldering iron.

      • Thanks for info. Any idea where to buy replacements. The only batteries on the Vax site are not available.

  • These any good?

  • any ideas how long this one would last before having to recharge?

    • +1

      20-22 mins.

      • thanks mate

  • No HEPA, passing by…

  • We’ve got a very similar model that we’ve had for 18 months. Used regularly and never had any issues until recently but I think the battery has just failed. Unfortunately 2 year warranty on the unit but 1 year on the battery…..

For the price though it’s not bad value. Just hoping I can get a replacement battery…

    • You may be able to get it replaced under ACL. Worth a shot if you have the time.
