Heavy user of Chromecast to watch netflix, stan and google play movies.
Upgraded TV to 4K and wanting to upgrade Chromecast to the Ultra.

Wondering if anyone has used these in the past and if they're worth the time (the ultra is atleast 3 times the price). Please leave a comment with your thoughts.
Why not take the chromecast off the old TV and put it on your new one instead of getting a cheapie for $29?

The TV does have an inbuilt chromecast, but it doesnt work as well as the old one.
Wanted to upgrade literally to see if there's a difference with the 4K version, now that I have a 4K TV. The Cheapy says that it offers 4K as well.
Don't most people just buy the Vodafone TV now?
Unless space is important ie wall-mounted TV and the CC dongle is easier.
I've seen the VodaTV around OzBargain before, but I don't see the advantages over a Chromecast? Does it support 4K?

I am not a fan of the Chromecast. Much prefer something with a dedicated remote control and better UX. Roku used to be great but then they made it hard to setup if in Australia.
The pain of enduring an inferior tech product will outlive the pain of paying more for it.
When on sale, those Chromecast are cheap anyway.
Unless of course you're using single ply.
Check if your new TV supports the streaming apps natively.
