  • $1.00 cheaper here

However if you want to be delivered to your door then $1.00 extra for delivery is very reasonable :)

    • I did a price beat at Bunnings (who sell these for $74) showing them on my mobile that the Officeworks up the street had stock, so got it for 39.60.

    • not sure why this got negged.
It's a valid point why you'd want to spend $44+ if you could get it with $18 or less

even much less if you try your luck to get the codes at reddit

Some people dislike the tone of my comments regardless of their contents. See for examples this comment where I corrected the deal expiry date and which in turn caused the Rep to fix the advertisement on his web site. And this comment where I complained about the Rep's laziness. And this comment where I pointed out the inflated and misleading description written by PCCG on their product page. All received neg votes.

And see these two comments where user abacus gave a warning about dodgy DVDs on Amazon. Negged twice for being helpful.

I couldn't care less about these negs.

          lol !!

I negged you, but only because I also couldn't care less about this system.

I'm sure that it started off with all of the best intentions, but it doesn't work on ozbargain or other websites.

@clandestino: User name didn't check out once you broke anonymity but thanks for the laugh.

        • +1

It's not what you say but how you say it that matters. Eventually people will skip past your comments because you're just a guy who rants, meaning you're wasting your time typing those comments. If you want people to listen, tone plays a major part in that, along with having useful information to share of course. Otherwise you're just another JV.

@Trishool: Instead of voting negative anonymously, you spent your time to write a thoughtful response. And although I do not agree with much of what you had written, nevertheless I thank you for your time and effort. Take a look at this latest example. My tone was neutral and the content is (hopefully) helpful, but it still got negged for no reason.

If jv is just a guy who rants and people simply skip past his comments because of it, then he would not have become the idiosyncrasy that he is. The amounts of neg votes on the comments are clear indications that users have been reading and reacting to them.

The arbitrary and anonymous natures of neg comment votes have led to the system losing its purpose. But that is a debate for another time and forum.

            • @alvian: For someone who 'couldn't care less about these negs' it sure seems like you do …. Just Saying

              • -1

@Distort: I was simply giving examples of what in my opinion are unreasonable negs. I regularly review my comments to make sure they were factually accurate and reflected what I wanted to express at the time. I care about my comments and other people's written responses but I don't care about the negs. Can you tell the difference?

                • @alvian: By giving examples of what in your opinion are unreasonable negs, is in fact caring about those negs? Can you understand what i'm saying?

                  • -1

@Distort: Yes I can but I am giving examples in the context of this thread. I don't troll around OzBargain writing "take a look at these unfair negs". But how am I supposed to discuss the broken state of the neg comment voting system without giving examples?

          • @Trishool:

It's not what you say but how you say it that matters.
… you're just a guy who rants, meaning you're wasting your time typing those comments.

I wish to improve my writing style and stop wasting my time typing helpful comments. Can you take a look at this comment and tell me how I should say it so that I won't offend the neg voter please? Was I ranting without even realising?

Google has confirmed it will be launching new hardware next week. During parent company Alphabet's financial call with analysts, chief financial officer Ruth Porat said: "we are pleased with the ongoing momentum of Assistant-enabled Home devices, particularly the Home Hub and Mini devices and look forward to our May 7 announcement at [Google] I/O from our hardware team.

So maybe there is a new mini coming

    • Apart from the mic not picking up commands as effortlessly as Alexa, the mini does the job well! Let’s face it, no one is using it as a primary speaker as it’s easy to cast to actual speakers. So they probably don’t have a hell of a lot to improve on. But I’m curious.

      • they would probably add more mics and maybe more connectivity features or something like the dot 3

  • I give him credit Google paying the postage :)

  • That's a top price , I'll upvote to help sell them :)

  • It's available for same at Target online store with 1000 flybuys point promo. Free pick up from store or $9 delivery.

  • Price referring to is penno $10.50 .

  • Good stuff op - I am just negging so people can see you can get it for $18 delivered - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/452529
Happy to revoke if you can update your op with alternative cheaper buying option

  • not a product worth paying for.

    • Lol I wouldn't even take it if it was free.

  • Please, hand in your ozbargain license if you pay more than $18 for the google home mini!! (can get it for $5.99 if sign up for student premium on spotify then upgrade to family)
