Thanks to a jetstar sale from Singapore to haikou several months ago, I’ll be travelling to Hainan island soon. I fly into and out of haikou but will likely only spend my last day there.
My understanding is that there are two visa options for travellers who don’t want to get the full Chinese visa. First is one where you pay on arrival. That’s pretty straight forward. The other is here you get a travel agency over there to get you a waiver of sorts. Lists of recommended travel agents are provided. I find that a lot of these types of agencies are crap to deal with. Obviously they want you to book as much as possible through them and are not going to give you the absolute cheapest option available.
Has anyone dealt with these agencies and can you tell me which one and the minimum amount I can book and get a visa from them. I will be taking the high speed train from haikou to sanya as soon as I land. Can I just buy one of these tickets from them (at an up charge obviously ) and get my zero cost entry?
Also looking for advice in getting good value. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but good value. Are there any good value tours that include some must see attractions? Any notable hotels tor apartments o stay at that are good value? Anything that would be considered good value to buy over there?
