To order one you need to login in to the ANZ Samsung Store, you need to be an employee of ANZ and have a Samsung account
    :) Good phone 6.4" Super AMOLED 1080 x 2340 pixels with 4000mh battery. The A30 is waterproof (IP68) and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor That's

I'm waiting for the A50 to come out.

    • What the…?!?

      Reminds me of SUPREME's silly
      ways of generating demand by
      -arbitrarily- limiting supply.

(So, those who manage to buy a
      SUPREME product often flip it
for several / many times what
      they paid for it.)

PS Why does the Title mention:

      • Samsung Educ Store & EPP Store

This phone can be purchased for $300 as a gray import from Catch of the day. The AU Stock sells for $379 from JB-Hifi ext.

        • Import may not have B28 and NFC. The review versions on GSMArena doesn't but AU version does.

        • Is that for a Global ver?

PS I've been watching AliExpress for:

          • XiaoMi's Mi Max 3 (w/ 6.9" screen + 5,500 mAh batt.?)

          or similar. (I need a big screen…)

  • You linked to the ANZ version, here's a link to the Education version. Decent price though!

u know its grey import right? no samsung pay

      • +2

Does that imply, eg: "No Google Pay"

What's an advantage of "Samsung Pay"

  • Looks good! Might need to compare with the other mid-tier Oppo/Huawei. A good gift for the parents! Thanks OP :)

Samsung A series has IP68 and AMOLED which none other midranger has (Motorola and Nokia has NFC and B28 in midranger but still lack these). The SoC is weak though and camera is average at best. If only Samsung uses SD SoC which makes it much easier to port GCam then it's perfect.

      • had to google a lot of those acronyms! But thanks for the input. I think for my parents who mainly uses it for phone calls, messaging, youtube, simple web-browsing, and fast charging for $300 might be alright.

Yeah if your parents don't do any heavy multitasking it's perfect. Only 3/32GB RAM and Storage so you probably need to buy a sizeable SD card, otherwise they will run out of storage fast with all the photos.

Still, it would have been much better if Samsung does use a decent SD like SD630/636 (maybe too much $) as it does matters when you surf Facebook or taking better photo (GCam port totally dominates that Samsung crappy camera on the midranger/budget range). My dad like to take photo and I decided to give him my Poco F1 with GCam setup so he can take better photo (especially with shaky hands). He had the J5 Pro before. Much more convenient than bringing a DSLR (and cheaper).

          • @Bigboomboom: The one in the above link has 4/64gb combination.

          • @Bigboomboom: Yea, got a few SD cards since they're going for so cheap! $30 for 128gb. I'll go in store and have a look and compare. But for what they use it for and a good battery and screen size. Seems to be an easy option.

      • cannot find any reference abt waterproof. can u confirm if it does?

  • That's a lot of pixels for ARM Mali-G71 MP2 to push through.

  • Too bad the new A Series (A30, A50, A20 and A10) is not waterproof anymore T_T

  • Just waiting for the A70. Samsung chat said they don't know when it's being released in Australia.

    • I think we will get the A50.. but not the A80 (old name A70)

      • The A70 and A80 are different phones.

A70 is essentially a bigger A50 with better SoC and batery, whilst the A80 is the one with a pop-up flipping camera mechanism.

  • no dual sim and front fringerprint unlock

    • Gray import doesn't have NFC or samsung pay

aus stock does have NFC and Samsung pay but 3gb of ram and less storage but micro SD card slot is good.

      • and 2 years local warranty

  • Just bought 2x huawei y7 pro 2019 phones off eBay allphones 20% off ended up being $475ish for 2 phones

  • a20 is at jb for $279, looking at that or a nokia 5.1 plus. Talked my mom out of getting an Oppo A73…
