Reviews give it a big thumbs down

    • +4

1,888 reviews on Amazon give it 4/5. 1 review on Tefal website gives it 1/5.

      • Dont trust Amazon reviews, they dont remove fake reviews from hacked accounts.

one of my unused accounts was hacked and fake reviews left. They would not remove the fake reviews or approve any edits that said they were fake reviews.

      T-FAL T-FAIL

    • -4

I suspect these have the same amount of metal as the kmart ones - you are just paying for a logo here.

      • +2

Maybe read the thread before negging

  • -6

This is NOT Tefal. It's T-fal. Sadly Amazon is supporting knockoff products

    • +5

Actually it's the same company, they just changed the name in some countries.

      • -7

Oh really? Nice to know. It's still not Tefal though lol

        • +2

What do you mean it's still not Tefal? Is it not simply a variation in branding? Are you saying the quality of the products are different?

          IS IT T-FAL OR TEFAL?

It’s both. Originally launched in Europe as Tefal, this line of cookware was introduced in North America as T-fal since the name Tefal was too much like Teflon. But whether T-fal or Tefal, it is the same cookware and the same manufacturer offering the same technology and the same quality.

          https://www.thecookwareadvisor.com/t-fal-ultimate-hard-anodi…

          • @alvian: In Japan also T-FAL… I used to live there, and it was quite confusing at first.

          • @alvian: Probably something to do with accents and pronounciation… I can imagine the yanks would say "Teffel"

          • @alvian: Agree the 2 names are from the same group buy not sure they are the same in terms of quality and everything else https://www.t-falusa.com/about-tefal
The link you quoted doesn't have a good back it up to what it says. The same thing is said on wiki WITHOUT a reference! Tefal vs Teflon are too much similar? You must be joking, and good luck to Tefal marketing department to invent a totally different brandname and logo in different countries for that reason. I've known of similar cases but it was due to copyright or compliance or quality reason or business strategy (e.g. the same company can produce similar products with different brand names and totally different quality). So unless Tefal itself says that, I'm not convinced. As homewotk, Tefal Cuisine Companion is one of the most well known multi cooker from Tefal. Can you link to an equivalent product from T-fal?

            • @HaiG: Moulinex is a Groupe SEB brand along with Rowenta, Calor, All-Clad, Lagostina, Krups, and Tefal, all household products brands.

I actually own a Tefal Cuisine companion and instead of paying the ridiculous Australian RRP for the accessories I bought a Moulinex brand bowl accessory and it was exactly the same as the tefal brand bowl but cost less than half the price (and works perfectly with the Australian brand Tefal Cuisine companion).

              • -1

@videoman: Yes they own a few other cookware brands for different markets, for example SUPOR in China. Should we assume the quality of pans from those brands are the same?

            • +2

@HaiG: Tefal/T-fal itself said so on the video from the link you gave. What can you provide to show Tefal and T-fal sell different quality products? All I read are your assertions and assumptions.

I don't need to convince you of anything. Who are you to give me homework when you did no research yourself?

  • Would be great for someone starting out and needing so many utensils.

However it is worrying that many reviews mention warping.

    • +1

Agree good for someone starting out, any issues that’s what the warranty is for amazon likely just refund it

  • +4

    don't buy nonstick everything lol.
just get a non-stick fry pan.
    Go stainless steel.
this here is a fraction of all-clad: https://www.amazon.com.au/Cooks-Standard-Multi-Ply-Stainless…

    • +2

Agree but your comparing $210 kit to $94, this is more suitable for someone just starting out

      • yes, but that stainless will last forever. nonstick are always going to eventually start sticking.

    • I agree.

The best setup to have is something like below.

1 X large high quality non-stick frying pan for eggs and other soft food items
      1 X cast iron skillet
Complete the set with high quality tri-ply stainless steel with aluminium core pots and pan.

Cooks standard are not manufactured to the same level as All-Clad and a few other manufacturers, a cheaper alternative would be Cusinart or La Tramontina, which are still high quality tri-ply SS.

      • Cook's standard actually say their set are 18/10 and "multi-ply" meaning tri-ply.
Cusinart don't and the Tramontina sets that do, aren't available in Australia

        • +1

Ah I must have been thinking of a different manufacturer, sorry.

Yes, multi-ply, multi-clad and tri-ply are usually the same thing.

  • Why is no one mentioning the $166 delivery fee ???

    • +2

Because you get can a prime membership for $6.99, which covers the cost of delivery.

  • +3

I got this set in August last year, and it's by far the best I've had. I've had lots of Tefal stuff and it starts off great but then over time they become pretty rubbish. I recommend waiting for this to go on sale again somewhere and getting that instead.

How is this a deal….. no discount of any kind

    • +1

      It was $138.45, suckis.

      • +1

Some just like to neg without research

    • How can you be so serious.

  • -3

Sorry but this is intentionally misleading consumers by trying to get them to think that they're buying "Tefal" when you're in fact getting "T-fal" made out of aluminium foil.

Hope I'm allowed to neg based on unethical behaviour that's not to be trusted.

Edit: Maybe I'm wrong? Looking at some of the other comments…

    • you know your right I didnt even notice this was T-FAL i thought it was TEFAL lol..

Edit: as per below comment it is Tefal (learn something new everyday)

    • +1

It's the same company… Different branding in different countries

    • Could have use the time spent in commenting to look up Google..
