I'm after The Cheapest Locally Available Phone in OzBargain History. Can You Help Me ? (before mothers day)

Mothers day is coming up and I want to buy my mum a great phone.

In true ozbargain spirit, I'm willing to pay the lowest historical price ever for a brand new AU available phone.

Due to the approaching deadline, I won't have time to order a phone from overseas.

I also don't want to be considered a "tightwad" by my family, so refurbished or used is out of the question.

My mum only needs the phone for calls.

I bought a phone from Woolworths (or maybe Coles) for $10 once, it was even touch screen.

    So which one is it?

  • Woolworths has Some phones on sale. Alcatel Boost U3 for 19.99

    • That was the exact phone I was looking at but the screen is a bit small. Worried my mum won't be able to read the text

      • It has android so it can enlarge the letters for old people.

A classic Nokia does the job. Any cheap touch screen phone does not last long, a waste of money IMO.

  • Great phone, or a cheap phone?
They sell like $10 phones at the supermarket.

Need to be more clear with your question.
What's the price range? Less than $50? From $300-$600?
Phones sell from next to nothing all the way up to over $2000. So even $800 can be considered cheap in a relative sense.

    • Great cheap phone ? <$50.

        Less than $50 isn’t a tightwad?
