Good Office/Gaming Chair for ~ $400

Hi, I'm looking for an office/gaming chair for $400 - $450, I sit down for between 5-6 every day and my old Officeworks chair isn't cutting it.
Any recommendations? I've heard that the Herman Miller Aeron, Ergohuman, Steelcase chairs are good but frankly, I don't have the budget for them.
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about gaming chairs but I think the general consensus is that to stay away from PU leather and that the racing chairs arent ergonomic. Also, I don't feel comfortable buying online without trying the chair. As a result, I don't know what to buy. Any help is appreciated.

      not in WA

  • I've bought my used herman miller aeron with lumbar support for $450 used. It's been the perfect chair, no tears, scratches, etc. Everything works perfectly.

Have a look on gumtree, Facebook marketplace or ebay, that's where I found mine.

I bought my Ergohuman V2 from eBay for $80.

  • I bought my Herman Miller Mirra for $50 on Gumtree, an office was being refurbished and they were clearing them all out. You should easily be able to find a Herman Miller or Steelcase under $400 on Gumtree/eBay, I see them all the time.

  • If you can wait a little I would ignore the people telling you to get an Aeron and instead get a NEW Herman Miller Sayl chair on sale (On sale pretty regularly for ~$650). I sit on both every day, Aeron at work and Sayl at home, and I found them to be pretty on par with eachother in regards to comfort and that 5 year parts and service warranty is great - I've had a gas lift go and also the arms started cracking, both were sorted out promptly.

If you ask the internet what the best office chair is it will always tell you the Aeron, it's famous. However I bet a lot of the people spruik it like it so much because of how good the internet told them it is. I work in an office full of them and there are quite a few people who have had them swapped out for your average $400 OW chair with cushioning. They're a great chair but not the be all end all.
