So, 2 girls could use the one cup?

I'd had an idea about something like this before. More in the sense of borrowing an actual porcelain cup..and you get a discount when returning it - instead of those stamp cards.

The idea of using a plastic/rubberised lid that someone or many many others have used before maybe me feel a bit weird. Kind of like lending out your toothbrush.

    • porcelain

      breakage disadvantage.

      • Yes there is that…There is that indeed

This is a laudible scheme to reduce single use coffee cups.

However, there is a $12.99 fee charged to your credit card if cups are not used again at participating outlets within 30 days.

It's ideal for people who use the same coffee shops regularly.

Read the FAQ's before getting your "free" cup.

Why do I have to enter my credit card details, if it’s free?

Our cups are designed to be continually used in circulation and not sit in your car or cupboard.

If you hold onto a cup longer then 30 days without using it (no scanning activity), you will be charged an overdue cup fee of $12.99 to cover the cost of the cup.

What happens if I don't scan a cup back within 30 days?

If you have a cup scanned out and not being used, after 30 days, you will be charged an overdue cup fee of $12.99 to cover the cost of the cup.

To avoid any fees a reminder email will be sent to you after 15 days.

    • You just need to return the cup at any participating cafes. No need to have to purchase anything.

  • Nope - my preferred cafe offers a discount when I take my own keep-cup. The 30 day turn is a neg.

  • I like the idea If the lids are still disposable and only the cup get reused. Otherwise I’m concerned for sanitary reasons.
