Singapore 3-Day Travel Tips

Hi guys,
I'll be in Singapore for 3days in Mid July. Staying in Chinatown area.

Any advice, tips, from previous travellers?.

1.What are some great places to visit or must-see spots?

2.How did you get around, Uber? Train? Taxi?

3.Should I get a sim card for 3days or is Wifi widely available?

Thanks.

    • if you can googled it for him, you might as well summarized it here.

      • errrr

Didn't I just summarize it for OP? and yet i got negged by OP lol.

Singapore is awesome, just ask around uncle/onties on the day, you won't lost. The country is too small to get lost.

Train is pretty cheap and efficient. Taxis are also relatively cheap in Singapore. Uber was bought over by Grabcar so Uber doesn't operate in Singapore any more. Download the Grab app and sign up before you head to Singapore.

    Places to see includes:-

    • Gardens by the Bay (be prepared for long lines for OCBC skyway so go early). Go at night/early evening as the lights are pretty nice. There's Satay by the Bay which offers affordable street hawker style food. Satay there was pretty good.

    • Clarke Quay for dinner/drinks and walk along the river or take a river cruise

    • Marina Bay Sands

    • Orchard Road shopping district

    • Sentosa Island and Universal Studio

    • Chinatown

    • Merlion

    • Singapore Flyer

    • Jewel Changi Airport which just opened but be prepared for the crowd

In July, be prepared for monsoon period so it might rain alot. Bring along a foldable umbrella and lots of shorts.

    1. Depends what you like to see and do. Singapore has something for everyone

    2. The MRT is probably the best; taxis are ok but watch out for shift change over times, or leading up to the peak fare period

    3. For 3 days, I would just go with wifi. The world won't end.

This is $h1t. You need to try Boon Tong Kee.

  • Grab is best for getting around. Slightly cheaper than Taxi. Also download Gojek and compare the prices.

The MRT is also quick and easy. Depends on whether you're traveling with kids or solo.

Get a tourist SIM at the airport, for 3 days, you get heaps of data.

Pre-paid SIM cards (S$10 to S$50) are available at 7-Eleven stores,Cheers convenience stores and at the Singapore Post. The three mobilephone service providers are SingTel, MobileOne (M1) and Starhub.Singapore doesn’t use area codes; to call a number within Singapore, simply dial the eight-digit number. To call Singapore from outside the city-state, dial +65, the country code, then the eight-digit number. To make an international call from Singapore, dial the access code 001 (Sing Tel), 002 (M1), or 008 (StarHub), followed by the country code, area code and the number.

  • Check out the museums, eat at pretty much any of the hawker centres (Lau Pa Sat is one of the biggest and located in the CBD, avoid peak work lunch hours though, also open 24/7) and then the usual things like Universal/Sentosa, Chinatown, Orchard Road, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, etc etc

Take the train, the country is so small you could literally see the next stop and walk if you wanted to, take a taxi/grab if you're feeling a bit lazy or going further up north west
