  • Thanks OP. Fingers crossed - this would be amazing to win

  • So you don't actually win the car for keeps?

    • if you're under 25? I thought you could keep it if you're over or did I misread

      • +1

Don't get to keep the car - only 6months no matter what :(

The loan and use of the Competition Prize Car are subject to booking and availability and Sponsor (Aust) Pty Limited’s (“Sponsor”) standard loan vehicle Terms and Conditions in relation to test drives and similar arrangements.

        • Didn't actually realise that. Oh well… drive it like you stole it for 6 months?

          • -1

@chartparker: Hey, i think if you're over 25, you win the WRX forever. If you're under 25, you receive a BRZ for a loan period of 6 months.

            • @justanotherdeal: hmm… I think you may need to amend the original post…

              $3,000 SUPERDRY WARDROBE

A SUBARU WRX STI FOR 6 MONTHS
or (should the winner be under the age of 25) a Subaru BRZ for a loan period of 6 months

              • @MrFrugalSpend: I think it's the Turbo on the WRX that pushes it into a higher insurance bracket. I think to save cash they've added that caveat into the promotion because of a male under 25 with a WRX in an insecure parking location in a metro region would pretty much be the highest insurance bracket. because it's a loan they would need to fully insure it.

Both cars are only to loan regardless of how old you are is how I read it.

                • @mwahahaha: Yes both cars are to loan, original post said 25+ y/o keep the WRX, which was wrong (hence my comment about amending the post which has now happened).

True about insurance, plus I think the other reason under 25s may have to loan the BRZ is some states don't allow Provisional drivers to drive performance cars.

    • Looks like it's a loan for 6 months, regardless of the winners age. From the T&Cs:

      1. Supply of the Competition Prize Vehicle will be subject to the following terms and conditions: The loan and use of the Competition Prize Car are subject to booking and availability and Sponsor (Aust) Pty Limited’s (“Sponsor”) standard loan vehicle Terms and Conditions in relation to test drives and similar arrangements. Sponsor will use its best endeavours to supply either a Sponsor WRX STI, Sponsor WRX or Sponsor BRZ at the winner’s election, and subject to Sponsor being satisfied that the winner is legally entitled to operate the Competition Prize Car and the winner will be otherwise covered by Sponsor’s insurance policy over the Competition Prize Car (note drivers under the age of 25 are not covered by Sponsor insurance over turbocharged vehicles). The Competition Prize Car must be collected from and returned to the winner’s nearest authorised Sponsor Retaile

      $3,000 SUPERDRY WARDROBE

A SUBARU WRX STI FOR 6 MONTHS
or (should the winner be under the age of 25) a Subaru BRZ for a loan period of 6 months.

    • Nope you don't. Clearly states the prize in clause 10.

The Winner will win the following:
      One (1) Winner to be drawn: Winner will receive a Subaru WRX STI Manual or a Subaru WRX Auto (should the winner not be able to drive manual) or (should the winner be under the age of 25) a Subaru BRZ Auto for a loan period of 6 months provided by Sponsor 1 in accordance to Clause 10 Section C valued at up to $10,000, a trip for two (2 x economy return flight to Tasmania plus 5 nights’ accommodation at a tourist class hotel in Hobart) to Tasmania provided by Sponsor 2 valued at $2,500 plus a $3,000 Superdry voucher. Total prize pool worth: AUD $15,500;

Choice of 3 possible cars for a 6 month loan, the holiday and Superdry voucher. Total prize pool is $15,500 and not $47,500 unless the promoter has stuffed up somewhere.

  • +7

Not sure how loan of a car for 6 months is worth $42k!

    • -1

If you're over 25 then you get to keep the car, under 25 you get the car on 6 month loan.

      See here

      Total prize pool
      $47,500
      Under 25 Valued at: $15,500

      • +3

Thats not what the T&C's say.
        Summary:
        Total prize is $15,500
-$10k 6 month loan of a Subaru WRX STI Manual OR Subaru WRX Auto (if cant drive manual) OR Subaru BRZ (if under 25).
-$2.5k a trip for two (2 x economy return flight to Tasmania plus 5 nights’ accommodation at a tourist class hotel in Hobart) to Tasmania
        -$3k Superdry voucher

        • Spot on bluey47, total prize pool regardless of over or under 25 is $15,500 as per the T&C's. It clearly states this at 10(a). What is deceiving here though is at the start of the page it says total prize pool $47,500, which according to the terms is clearly wrong. Be great if they could clarify what the other $32,000 of prizes are or correct the typo.

      • No way you could get a brand new STI for $475000, especially not with the rest of the prizes too.

        • +2

I beg to differ, I'd sell you a brand new STI if you paid me $475000 any day and throw in the extra prizes!! Do we have a deal?! :) !!

  • Why do they need Date of Birth from every entrant in advance?

Don’t mind handing it over if I win of course, but hesitant to spray it around the internet to companies for whom data security may not be a priority.

  • what happens if you write off the car, do then owe money to the company?

    • T&C's say yes. Its insured so you would pay excess.

  • I feel like the T&Cs have been copy/pasted (numbering off), or the comp details haven't been checked, or both.
