I didn't enjoy this one very much, whether it was the Grand total of 3 types of enemies or the fact that engagements would occur relentlessly on the roads, I don't know…

Have you tried Far Cry 2? It impossible to drive past an outpost without having the enemy chase you down. The car would take damage from a few bullets then slow down so you had to deal with them every single damn time.

Yep respawning enemies in 2 was a joke. Farcry 1 was amazing. But maybe that's because it was new and shiney.

Story in 3 was good but I got sick of every enemy wearing a red bandana. 4 had mouse acceleration which couldn't be turned off iirc.

I guess I don't really like any FC after 1. But gee that first one was an eye opener.

I've only ever player the first 3 (and didn't finish 2). Both 1 and 3 were great imo. Will eventually get around to playing 4 and 5. I'm not going to bother with primal.

@FireRunner: I thought 4 had a bit to it, liked the story, liked the gameplay.

          • @FireRunner: personally i thought primal was the best. definitly better than 5

That's what the bus system was for.

    • It's competently made formulaic Ubigaming like all the other Ubigames.

      • I dunno, siege was pretty groundbreaking.

    • Far Cry 4 was superb, I just couldn't gel with the redneck US setting of this one.

      • Any issues with mouse acceleration? My aiming felt off in a way I couldn't correct, and I think mouse acceleration was baked into FC4, no way to turn it off.

        Happy to be corrected.

  • Is the DLC / Deluxe / Gold Edition worth it?

Does it add much content or story?

I have no rush in buying this and can wait until the gold version / deluxe version is like half this price honestly with the amount of games I have already but wondering if it adds much to the gameplay.

    • I would usually agree with you about waiting for the "definitive" version but in this case the DLCs don't really have much to do with the base game and they all look pretty unappealing (I've only played the base game but that's the general consensus). But if you've already gone a huge pile of shame there's no harm waiting for it to drop further.

    • The DLC episodes are short and repetitive. The Mars DLC had big potential, the story & idea was there. But it's the same alien busting out of the sand over and over. The vietnam DLC was incredibly boring and I didn't finish it. I didn't bother with Zombies DLC, but I heard it was the best of the 3.
The FC5 story really sucked me in and I really loved the weapons and vehicles. There's HEAPS to explore and an insane amount of chained side quests if you chose to do them. The enemies do respawn really fast and the random events on the roads can get annoying when trying to finish a mission. Once you defeat that area's boss all enemies in that area disappear, so you can explore without too much issue.
There's Game+ mode now. My stepson and I are on our second playthrough now thanks to + mode ^_^
      Multiplayer is dead on PC.

      • How many people can be in one Multiplayer server or instance.

Most likely will play it with some friends over discord if we all ever get it but no rush no worries and I have a few communities that I can ask around into if I need another for FC5 mp or otherwise.

  • Says platform is Uplay for me..

    • It is. Sorry, my mistake. Corrected it.

      • All good, just got excited for a second and then realised that it was Uplay not Steam. :(
