POP2AU

This is the recently released second generation of the popular Meizu POP earphones that is in my opinion one of the best sub-$100 TWS earphones out there. The POP2 improves upon the first gen by introducing Bluetooth 5.0, an increased battery life up to 8 hours, weighing 5.4g per earphone and packaging/manual in English.

Other features of the earphones include True Wireless Stereo, IPX5 water resistance, inbuilt mic for calls/voice assistant, 4 different sized earbuds, touch gestures and a charging case that provides an extra 24 hours of battery life. The charging case itself can be recharged wirelessly or with a USB-C cable.

  • I had first gen Pop and they were ok but flaky connection at times.

Will be interesting to see how this next gen goes.

Yeah a little bit of lag sometimes but I find that to be the case with a lot of TWS earphones unfortunately. Hopefully the BT 5.0 in the Meizu improves upon that.

      • The touch controls worked well for this first week then they were a complete mess after that. That's what made me sold mine along with their soft bass. Went and got Edifier TWS2 and they crush in terms of bass and reliability.

Back to this Pop 2, I'm guessing that the increased battery life is cos of the Qualcomm Bluetooth chips announced last year. Good to see the battery life go up.

If AUD 50 many will buy

Considering they sell for 399 CNY ($58.50 US) in China I don't think that will be possible. Perhaps too expensive for OzBargain's cheap tastes?

  • Better than the Taotronics, szroboy or Soundpeats?

  • I owned wireless earphones for about 3 weeks. Lost one. What a waste of money.

    • How is the sound quality and product quality anyway?
