  • i just bought one from CA which is $20 more, i guess you bought form them as well?

  • Will this work on Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H? I've installed a GTX 1080 Ti but the pc still seems to only be in an average speed. Wonder if this SSD will boost it?

    • Is it running a modern SSD already? If yes this won't be that noticeable for day to day use, you may have a software problem like old drivers or malware.

    • Only difference this would make are loading times and boot-up times with regards to gaming.

    • And obviously copying speeds, big difference if you encode, remuxing, even unzipping is instant for big files. Depends if you have been using a HDD or a SATA SSD previously. Not too much difference for normal tasks between a 2.5 SSD. You always pay so much more for a little boost in performance for PC parts.

Why old 512 Gb 950 Pro SSD is almost dead (tends to lock up during sustained operations) and Samsung is taking forever to give me RMA approval. I have been forced to us a backup HDD partition with an uncustomized Windows 10 installed on it in the meantime (Win7 is my choice). Much quicker to purchase a new 1TB SSD (presunmably faster, but probably lower durability than my Pro), and Ebay auction off the replacement for the 950 whenever Samsung gets around to it (probably it'll take a month).
