Big W currently have a sale on Turtle Beach Recon 50X Gaming head sets. Original price was $60, down more then 50% to $29. Thou these are by no means the best, more a low mid level head set these have a 3.5mm jack and can be used on the computer and the box also said PS4. Comes with separate mic mute button. If you include Woolies 5% off gift cards the price comes down to $27.55. I'm sure jb etc will price match.

    The Plantronics RIG 300HS is designed only for the PS4 though. Great if you've got a PS4.

      It will work with Switch and Xbox One. The only difference with the PS4 version is the cable colour.

      It appears to be designed for PS4 in the way that any stereo headset is designed for PS4. And anything else with a TRS jack.

      The best headphones to get for PS4 are the Sony headphones for ps4 because they both are the only headphones that can output virtual surround. Unless you buy a device like a Mixamp to mix the optical 5.1 output into virtual surround - then you can use any headphones.

        The Sony headphones are crap. They are too fragile. My son's pair broke in the same place on both sides, the plastic hinge is not strong enough.

        His mate has also been through 2 pairs! Not great for a $130 product.

        i prefer to get him the Turtle Beach Recon 50x, last longer and a fraction of the price. No wireless, but also no need to mess with dongles and keeping the things charged.

        TRS? I assume you mean TRRS.
        Any TRRS headset should work with XB1 or any system that uses TRRS female Jack, like any Android phone.

          @Phoebus: Except the original Xbox One controllers, of which I have 4, that don't have a TRRS jack :(

          The adapters for those cost more than the controller!

    Yeah that one is marketed for the PS4.

    The black & green one is marketed for the XB1.

  I paid $60 for these at EB 5 months ago, decent quality sound but the MOST UNCOMFY headphones ever.. not buying Turtle Beach headphones again
