Is this the one missing motion controls, wireless and rumble?

  • Thanks OP, got one.
There used to be battery drain issues with these but apparently sorted now. Bought the Zelda one.

    • Those 'battery drain issues' are because these don't have internal batteries of their own, and run entirely from the Switch.

  • FWIW, someone posted on Reddit the other day saying they have this, but prefer the Collective Minds D-Grip (joycon cover with dpad attachment). They were raving about the quality of the D-Grip, which also has the added bonus of working with existing joycons (so retains the ability to play wireless, rumble, motion controls, etc).

Shipping is a bit stiff from Amazon US or the Collective Minds website direct, so I'm waiting for it to appear to Amazon AU. But just another option to keep in mind!

There are also a few other similar cases coming to market (Cyber and Nyko both have similar ones coming out), as well as a new third party joycon shell with dpad coming from ExtremeRate (apparently their shells are better than the Basstop ones).

I’d suggest to only get the Hori dpad if you only need the dpad for handheld mode (ie. you have another controller for docked use). Otherwise, a joycon cover or replacement shell will be more versatile (can be used docked or tabletop, and even as a single joycon still).

  • I'm actually using skull and co d pad that sticks on top of the buttons and works well.

I'm 95% in portable mode and the grip with d pad is no good if your already using a grip case.

  • I have one of these and the dpad is excellent.
