1280
INSIDER10

Got an email from The Fork with another round of Bonus points to celebrate their launch of their Insider program. According to the terms, you can get the bonus points for any booking, not just for the Insider restaurants. Remember to enter the code at the time of booking.

I don't see anything in the terms about not applying to restaurants that are running special offers, so check them out here.

Terms

  • Users who receive the Email Communication must book and dine directly on TheFork between Thursday 23rd May 2019 – Sunday 23rd June 2019 to be eligible for reward points.
  • Users must make a valid restaurant booking on www.thefork.com.au or the iPhone/Android app with the promotional code INSIDER10 entered into the promotional code field at the time of booking in order to receive 10,000 TheFork Rewards Points.
  • Restaurant bookings DO NOT have to be at an INSIDER restaurant to be eligible for this promotion.
  • Please note that this bonus offer gives you 10,000 points and you will also be awarded the standard number of points you receive in a regular booking.
  • Points will be credited after the promotion has ended and within 30 days.
  • If the booking is cancelled or no-showed, the bonus points offer does not apply.
  • Please note that each user can only use the promo code once and that it is not transferable.
  • Please note that you will not receive 10,000 TheFork Rewards Points for making a review.
  • If you do not use the promotional code during your booking, we cannot credit the points to you post-booking.
  • TheFork reserves the right to withdraw or extend this offer at any time. Please note that this offer is only applicable on bookings.

Can stack with the Amex spend $50 get $20 credit https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/452280 ?

Spend $50 for $10 cost sounds pretty good to me

    • +1

I'm guessing so, but the Amex offer is for certain restaurants only.

Spend $50 for $10 cost sounds pretty good to me

Not exactly, cos the 10,000 rewards points on TheFork allows you to take $20 off your next restaurant bill at selected restaurants on TheFork. It doesn't take $20 off as such.

Alright $30 spend for $70 of food is not too bad either

        • min spend $100 to get $20off
          that's why I have 65000 points on balance…

          • @yl001: min spend $100 for what $20 off? The points redemption?
I've used it many a time for 1 person breakfast bookings of only $25, and had no issue.

            • @djlethal: oh~probably the fork changed rules ,thx for the feedback, I will ask the fork then

            • @djlethal: I'm guessing that means you can stack multiple $20 points redemptions?

              • @Chr1: @Orange16 - Not that I'm aware of….

              • @Chr1: You cannot stack multiple $20 points redemption. Also it doesn't stack with any other offer (eg.any the fork discounts)

I have 90k points left and I have to take lunch by myself for 9 more times :D

          • @yl001: There is no minimum spend required.

    • Did anyone confirm the stack with the Amex offer worked?

I originally booked on the website for the Amex offer, and in my email it mentioned the AMEX discount. Then I saw this offer and rebooked using the app, and the 2nd email didn't mention the AMEX discount

  • So I made a booking and entered the code in the promotion code field but when I edit the booking, the promotion code field is blank. Am I doing something wrong?

Booked Beiyrut at Tuart Hill who did honour this deal. Spoke to management who ignored my feedback both email and at the restaurant

who did or who did not?

  • +1

I booked using the promo code but there's nothing to confirm this code has gone through; nothing in the booking confirmation email and The Fork dashboard.

I think this was the case for previous bonus point promotions too. You get it credited much later.

Points will be credited after the promotion has ended and within 30 days.

  • How do you use thefork points? The restaraunt doesnt know of your points balance. Thefork is just a booking tool for them no?

    • +2

If you go to 'My Rewards' under your account menu, you'll see your rewards balance, scroll down to choose a restaurant to book. The restaurant then knows you have the $20 off offer.

  • These guys seem to be getting desperate. Their system only really works for restauranters (their clients) if the platform is big enough to have network effects. That way they can get good data on users and can block/prevent no-shows. However there seems much less reason for customers to use it, hence these offers.

    • They do run up to 50% off offers on decent restaurants and I find it better than buying groupon/scoopon vouchers because you don't have to pay upfront. You just book the offer and if you need to cancel before the booking, you can.

  • This looks like it's targeted?

  • +1

Not really good deal for me anymore. I end up spending a lot more than the $20 voucher. so end up 30% off.
Better off getting a groupon or scoopon voucher which is 50% off dinning.

  • Thanks for this, perfect timing. Cancelled and rebooked my lunch for tomorrow!

  • With the fork, can you combine it with the entertainment card, amex deal and the fork deal

  • Anyone know if you made a redemption booking but cancel the booking as I cannot make it, will I get the points back after cancellation? Thanks.

    • No you don't, the restaurant will confirm with thefork that you actually showed up or not.

    • lol…
