Harman Kardon Onyx Mini Portable Speaker $97.00 (RRP $229.95) + $10 Delivery (Free C&C) @ David Jones

Seems like a good deal for a speaker with good reviews. I don’t know from personal experience, just stumbled across this and thought someone may like it. Seems like it’s a couple of years old…

  • if the quality of the Esquire mini is anything to go by, I wouldn't recommend.

I've got the standard size Onyx - it's been 4 years and still going strong with good sound. Not sure if it's any help considering this is the mini

bought one of these over 2 years ago, great value for money at this price. really decent sound

  • I got this back when JBHifi had a HK sale. It's a great speaker with very warm sound, good mid range. I actually prefer it compare to the UE Boom3 which i bought recently. UE is just more robust for outdoor use etc. Would buy again, but I have 3x BT speakers already..

  • Mine arrived. The lower frequency (Bass) is horrible. Maybe i got a bad one. There is almost no bass. Nothing like the Onyx Studio 3/4 which has amazing bass. Even scaled down (because of its smaller size vs the studio 3/4), it has no scaled down bass over its bigger brother.

Can anyone confirm that their has a descent sounding bass/lower freq so i know it snot just a lemon i got.

I dont even see the rear passive radiator moving much on songs that have beats and drums.

realised that my passive radiator was not glued well, so air pressure was leaking, which made the sound be really bad. The second unit I got is a lot better. Sound on this is quite impressive.
