Completely agree, I'm going to give it a little bit more time :D

      • -1

Yes let it dry a bit longer!
Thank you Mr President Trump! I like my phone safe and secure and cheap as my coffee. At least my coffee can't shut down and sway my opinion, also doesn't send my personal data to anyone's office.

        • Who is interested in your perosnal data? U movie star?

          • @duodeta: Exactly! That's point.

Only a tyrannical dictatorship and their spying companies don't understand that they should leave people and their personal opinions alone. Thanks for pointing that out

            • @[Deactivated]: Seems u are from there and is that what u suffered from? Is that your actual personal feeling or just brain washed by DETTOL?

Day dream, spend more time to earn money in case you are one of the victims after trade war

      God damn Loch Ness monster

  • +5

    should be 50% off!

    • +2

      Be patient

    • yeah honestly it's a bit deceptive just dropping the price to get rid of stock - they really should put warnings on it

  • price in title?

    • p.s. beg pardon, I didn't see the difference between rrp and price. actually, I still fail to see the difference!

  • +10

Nowhere near a big enough discount given Huawei's predicament and also the fact that the S10+ can be had through the EPP for under a grand.

    • exactly

      • what's EPP?

        • enhanced partnership program

    • +2

yeah… but the s10 is samsung.

    • And Samsung education store

  • Yes, Huawei is on a precipice (or press-a-piss, for the unwashed) outside of the PRC. I'd def hold off

  • +2

catch have 1 left (black) for $1323 and the Aurora version (1 left) for $1388 both with free shipping for those who really want one now.

Amazon also have the Aurora for $1397 + free shipping.

    • +1

Also additional 5% off for Amazon Prime members for Aurora.

  • +2

why not merge this with the mate 20 thread for sanity's sake.

  • +5

    I'll get one when it's $500

    • +1

        • +1

          • @cloudie9: I'd wait for $100 mark

    • rich kid. My budget is 150$ for dashcam

      • That's exactly my plan! Or a weather station, or photo frame.

    • Someone offered me $40 for a brand new, sealed

      I replied with "WOW"

      • Should reply “20, cash NOW”

I really don't understand why people think google stopping the support is bad for Huawei, It will actually only make spying on users easier for them.

    • +4

Because """""smart"""""phones are really dumbphones without an app store.

Yes, Huawei may have their own app store or you could install F-Droid, but for 99% of users Huawei is dead in the water now.

      • +4

Seems like this Huawei google issue only affects futures phones and not currently existing phones. Only seems like the android updates will be rolled out slower on current Huawei devices @@. Google Play App Store and the google apps will work on all current phones just not on their future phones that they release.

        • But but but… The google will detect huawei phone and send a remote wipe command on it. Its the word on the street. Dont you know?

Soon as you power on this huawei phone it gets remote wiped courtesy of google.

          /s

      • Not that dead if people are still willing to pick one up for $500..

    • -1

Spy you for what? How many PHD degrees you have so they want to spend millions of dollars to identify and then spy on you?

Can people get a little bit brain from these spy jokes?

      • +1

'can people get a little bit brain'

      • +3

Sounds like something a spy would say.

    • Jeez, people don't understand sarcasm.

  • +2

should be +50% now , its a dead duck !!

    • I'd say 75-90% off is where to pull the trigger. Not to use as a phone though

      • Keep dreaming mate, even as a camera itself it is worth more than that.

        • I've already seen one was sold for $500 on ebay. Getting there. Only if the Chinese keep pushing and our lord president Trump doesn't back down. Getting there

          • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, link or doesn't happen. Everyone who says so can't provide any link of someone who sell it at such a low price.

  • +2

    I’d pay $13.99. No way at $1399.

    • Don't be greedy, make it $139.99

The workers in the Huawei factory needs to put food on the table.

      • In all honesty, Huawei is dreaming thinking they can sell any phones now after the sanctions.

  • +2

Waiting for HN HP touchpad Huawei P30/ P30 pro $98 /$148 fire sale

Happy for the Chinese government to spy on me at that price point. I mean I already have 9 google Pentagon spy bots from the spotify promo so why not let the Chinese join in too

  • OMG the price drop is so tiny … if only everyone can hold on and NOT buying it , the price should and MUST drop further below $1000 and lower . Who wants to pay over $500 for a great phone actually, thats worth nothing in 2nd hand market ??

  • I will take one once it’s dropped to $500 considering only one speaker…

  • effectively a duplicate thread for jb hifi and anti Huawei cloaked racism.

    • racism? are you kidding?

      • Companitism?

  • -3

I think any Seller, should warned or atleast let the customer know that in less then 90 days, they will not be able to use Google services.

  • +1

wait to it drops to $399

  • -1

I wouldn't buy one of these for even half price right now. The risk of them not being able to run anything from the Google Apps Store is a massive hit to them. Loading the apps without the App Store is a massive security risk. And I feel sorry for the amount of people that will buy one of these and not be told the full story by sales people wanting to get rid of stock.

'Of course this is a great phone.' And they won't mention the loss of the play store coming soon.

  • Just saying, a bunch of people from Hong Kong had their phones bricked after the latest update

  • Friend of Mine had 24 month contract with Optus for this P30 Pro. Excellent Camera, good photo and video. but having two issues after the recent software update.

    • all phone numbers from phone book or contact are gone, only the name tag, there is no phone number after the name (the rest were blank).
    • photos and videos taken one day before the update were gone. no backup, can't find it. completely lost.
  • If Huawho were smart they would reintroduce the bootloader unlock service to make the phone somewhat compelling.
