Be warned it is not a full size trolley and top box. Only about 104cm tall

    • Cheers. Is that 104cm including both pieces?

    • I've added dimensions to the post

I inspected this at my local store and was shocked that Stanley would put their name on it. It is very flimsy and the doors didn't even line up. The metal is so thin. I'd say it wouldn't cope with anything too heavy. I read a review that someone bought it for his kids' play tools. Also, it was on sale for $199 recently. No offense, OP.

Brought another day with the same price & returned the next day because of really poor quality & missing wheels :(

I went to buy something like this yesterday and was surprised how short it is but also the lack of depth.
The draws don't open all the way either. They stop at least an inch short.
It honestly looks like a toy.
They have sold for as little as $160 a few years ago.

This one looked a hell of a lot better. Although it seems to be discontinued as there wasn't much stock around.
It also doesn't come with any tools.

I'll be holding out for something better.
I was thinking something like this which, although has less drawers, I believe would actually have more total space. Plus you can always buy the top later.

    • Was thinking of buying that toolpro one actually. Half price seems like a good deal at the moment.

      • Don't forget 15% off gift card if you have the YOUi rewards, or/and 2% cashback on Cashrewards.

  • I get that this isn't for everyone, but can be a great option for the home mechanic. The tools alone are almost worth this price (I realize that the tools aren't the top of the line, but not everyone needs the most expensive tools to do a simple job).

    • If you were a home mechanic you'd realise that this is a complete waste of money.

One third of the set is "specialty driver bits" (unused by mechanics) and the size range of the spanners and sockets doesn't get you high enough for things like diff or trans bolts, harmonic balancer, wheel bearings, some suspension components.

You'll end up spending another few hundred dollars on a breaker bar and larger sockets (20mm plus).

When it comes on sale (sometimes at half price), the 156 piece tool kit is a better option for mechanics. Has sockets up to 32mm (which will allow you to do wheel bearings, tie rods, turn the engine over manually), a breaker bar for those tough bolts and a larger selection of spanners.

I've got the toolpro equivalent of this set and it only goes up to 19mm. The drawers are good to store all the sockets I have to buy that are not in the kit. I've tried the 156 piece Stanley one and that is much better quality than toolpro (just for reference).

Reviews on SCA website say the drawers are bad quality anyway.
