Amazon AU is having another sale on selected Philips LED (https://www.amazon.com.au/apb/page/ref=gbps_tit_s-6_a969_df4…). There are more listed on the page than the ones below, but can still be bought cheaper (per unit cost) from Woolworths (albeit in 2-packs, https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/search/products?searchTer…). General rule of thumb, if the unit price for the bulb is $6.50 or less, then it'll pretty much be the cheapest.

EDIT 08/06/19: Some items back in stock at the discounted price.

I'm guessing these are the "older" models that Amazon is trying to clear. Although some are more "efficient" (higher Lm/W) compared to the newer versions (which now generally sells for $15 or $13, depending on output, for a 2-pack at Woolworths, https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/871609/phi…).

  • Thanks OP. Ordered 3.

  • ordered 4 x 13W - $3.90 each is a bargain, the powerful bulbs are usually much more expensive. Very good price thanks.

  • Are Philips better than the no name brands sold on Amazon. Those are cheaper with better stats. E.g. I'm looking at GU10 and this brand reckons it is brighter with a 120 degree beam angle?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/DiCUNO-Non-dimmable-Energy-Saving-…

    • +1

The main concern is the actual product actually has the claimed stats (unless the listing has got verified reviews). The Philips has very good reputation and the larger volume of sales and use would suggest they would be easier to be scrutinised by users.although i guess one can try asking DiCUNO for review units if one has the expertise in testing and reviewing them technically.

Overall, if the price difference isn't too big, then it is much less hassle if things do go wrong and customer service is needed to be contacted (they are sold by Amazon AU).

      • I bought 4 of Philips daylight 1400 lumens bayonet ones during last sale from Amazon. One of them start to flicker after a month and Amazon sent a replacement immediately but yes you would be required to send the defective one back with amazon sponsored mailing label within a month. Hope this helps

        • I bought about 4 last two years, only one lasted more than 1 year.
I would go for cheapy LED nowadays

Osram from bunnings so far so good……

    • Philips are the best. Colour quality is excellent and performance matches specs.

Osram are also good. Slightly below Philips, but I like the more orange 'Warm Whites' they produce.

    • I've been mucking around with LED lighting for at least 10 years and have found Philips to be the best brand on the market - their Master MR16s are untouchable. Osram are also good. Everything else I've found to be rubbish.

  • Thanks Op - I bought the Cool White 18w bayonet type @$6.90

    • Can you share link.

      • Just click on OP's link to all bulbs

  • First one - seems to be back to $15
    13.0W A60 - Warm White - 1400Lm

    • Thanks. Updated.

  • Any Philips bulbs with higher CRI then 80?
Picked up a few 7w Lightway from Aldi the other day rated at CRI>95 and the dimmables were CRI>97

    10.5W A60 - Cool White - 1055Lm back to normal price

  • Bought 2 Cool White 18w bayonet type @$6.90, but both cannot light up.

    • =S I can only guess if it is compatibility issues, but give Amazon support a buzz in case if it is batch related issues.

      • Thanks. Bought another 2, waiting for the shipments. will test again. return the defective item to Amazon
