When Do Kindles (Paperwhite/Oasis) Go on Sale if Ever?

I'm looking to buy an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite or Oasis and if possible would buy when they're on sale. but i'm not sure whether they do go on sale (when they're the new model) or whether they just keep them at the price until a new model rolls in. I like the look of the new 2018 model of each.

    If you search here you will see there are pretty regular deals on the paper white and basic kindle.
    I reckon if you can wait a little, there is a good chance there will be a discount in end of financial year sales.
    Otherwise, Amazon prime day will be very likely to have a kindle deal in July.
    I have never seen the oasis at a discount. If you want that, best chance is to wait for discounted gift cards. Or wait till you win lotto, like me.

    They often come down to $179 for the Paperwhite (and many retailers follow, which implies that Amazon must be giving them a discount too, or are suppressing discounts at other times). If you can snag one from an eBay seller with a 20% off deal, then you have one for under $150, which is pretty good.

    I got one for my wife under $150 from Good Guys this way.

    I recently got a Kindle Paperwhite (2015?) for $50 from AusPost. It was initially $79 from this deal, but in the sleepy town where I live there was still one sitting around two months later, so they must have discounted it further.

    Use a search notification on ozbargain so you get an email the moment a deal hits.

    I picked up the Paperwhite box at JB to buy as a present for my Dad.

    I bought it and thought there was a sale or something I hadn’t seen anything about as the price was much lower than expected, but when I took it out of the bag I realised they had grabbed the wrong model. I actually was given the all-new Kindle.

    I had a look and decided it was fine, it’s as good as the previous Paperwhites. Just something to think about in case you’re not dead set on the particular model.
