Looking to Buy All-in-One Desktop PC

Hello,

I am currently looking to buy an All-in-one Desktop PC for my home. Do you know any good deals? I can buy refurbished, used or brand new. I just want to do basic stuff like emails, music, videos, web browsing etc. but no hardcore gaming. Still I may as well buy the latest specs PC anyway. I can spend around $1,500.

Thank you for the help.

Do you really need an all-in-one? This is Ozbargain - you can get a cheap tower and monitor off ebay.
I have a PC similar to this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455859
I didn't buy from that exact deal but my tower is basically the same one from BNEACTTRADER on ebay.

That's only ~$200. If you're not doing gaming then I don't think there's a need to spend $1,500. I use my PC all day long (work from home) and it's great. You'll obviously need to get a wifi dongle and a monitor, but I think my wifi dongle was $20, and I picked up an LG monitor (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360650915959) for $126 from a previous ebay sale.

I think spending $1,500 on a PC when all you're doing is basically browsing and watching a few videos is unnecessary.

+1 for BNEACTTRADER. I have used them also.
Just make sure you get one with an SSD, that is what is going to make the most difference to your day to day use.
The Dell Optiplex are great machines. They should do all that OP needs.

Speaking as an IT guy. All in one machines are a pain in the arse.
They are hard to fix, and more likely to have issues. They are also more expensive and when it comes to upgrading, you are paying for a brand new screen every time, rather than just having a standalone screen that you can use with multiple generations of computers.
    All-in-ones:

    Pros:
    Neat

    Cons:
    Usually Slower
    More expensive
    Hard to fix or upgrade
    More expensive to replace

      Thank you. Highly appreciated.

  • They are super cheap on eBay. 3rd gen i5 for about $300 or so. Look at Dell 3010 or 3020 - these aren't "current" but will suit your needs. Wifi, Bluetooth, etc all generally included which most towers don't have. You can swap the DVD drive for a second storage drive in many models.

Sure if they break they are a pain but realistically a Dell/HP/Lenovo tower still has proprietary mobo and PSU anyhow so it's not much worse. They are so cheap you can just buy another.

I'd never buy a new one given their cost and repair issues but secondhand is a different story!!

If you want new then get a NUC and attach it to a screen.

    • Thank you. Highly appreciated.
