eBay Weekend List & Sell Increased from $1 to $3.30?

I sell stuff from time to time and pretty much activate the $1 weekend sale every week. This morning i noticed the promotion has increased from $1 to $3.30?! Just wanted to check if this is just me (maybe i've sold too much stuff) or this is ebay wide.

$3.30 for me too. That suuuuuucks.

    Disclaimer: eBay suuuuuucks.

  • If you sell an item that would qualify for a cheaper FVF do you end up paying $3.30 for that as well?

EDIT: Terms say "Pay a maximum of $3.30 in Final Value Fees"

  • At least you got the weekend list and sell offer, this weekend I got nothing! (Weekends only: Pay $1 When you Sell! List as many items for free and only pay $1 in Final Value Fees per item.)

  • Yeah got nothing - cheers eBay

  • Yup, $3.30.

  • damn, i got nothing either

  • It looks like they've removed the $1 weekend promotion completely for everyone. But people who sell a little appear to be getting the $3.30 promottion.

A lot of high volume sellers were ditching their paid shop accounts and taking advantage of the weekend promotion

    They will be mad now.

    • I sell little (2 items a month) and not getting it.

  • Can you post the RSVP link to the $3.30 offer? Might still work on those accounts who weren't sent it

  • yup, im getting nothing

No offer here also. When you work out all the fees, Ebay is looking to be too expensive - especially if you wish to sell something competitively and still make some profit.

  • Another no offer here as well. Back to Gumtree.

    Aww gone for me too
Might have to try that ebay offer i saw on gumtree where you can import your listing to ebay and not pay the final value fee. Anyone used that?

  • On another eBay forum, a seller called eBay and the consultant said it's an error and should come back next week.. fingers crossed this is true, but there's a good chance they just didn't know what they're talking about.

    • Would be great if this is true hahaha, we'll see mate.

    • I wish it was an exaggeration that the Ebay customer support staff did not know what they were talking about.

It isn't however. When I must contact them to sort out an issue, there is a 50/50 chance they will provide the correct answer.

    • This is what I recieved today, admittedly I’ve not sold anything on eBay in months.

“Unlock $1.10 Insertion & Final Value Fees
Take up our selling challenge! Save fees when you sell 5 items for $50+ each”

Items must be sold by 19/6

    • Can anyone confirm if this is true?

      • It's not. Most sellers are reporting no deals this weekend. Myself included.

It looks like they're applying offers based on your selling amounts. Rather than a blanket offer for all.

        Oh wells.

  • The fact we have to discuss Ebay matters like this, shows just how bigger divide there is between Ebay and their customers.

How does a multi national company survive with such poor communication?

  • eBay keep dropping the perks like cashback and discounts getting crappier as time goes one.

Are profits down perhaps? Perhaps beginning to feel the heat from Amazon and the like?

  • I don't think dropping perks is going to help them make a greater profit.

Just makes their customers look elsewhere.

Anyone had any experience selling on Amazon?

  • "Pay no Insertion Fees and a maximum of $3.30 in Final Value Fees when you list and sell 10 items each valued at $50 or more."

    are they taking the piss?

    • I might be in the minority but I would be fine with $3.30 fvf as opposed to the complete lack of any offer whatsoever.

For those who still have an offer I would be grateful. You can still save a large amount of money.

      • They were providing a better & seemingly ongoing deal, and then revoked that offering one that was not as good, and even further restricted.

Was always going to upset customers.

My offer is actually titled as "Selling Challenge: Unlock $3.30 Final Value Fees". I see the offer started on the 5th June, but I have only received it this morning.

      • its 10 items only and they have to be $50 or more. $3.30 isnt that bad but the restrictions make it worse

  • After this latest Ebay debacle, have been looking into alternatives.

tradingpost.com.au seems to have a good interface, and also some features that Ebay does not have (more photos, and video support).

Free to use - I wonder why more people are not using this?

  • I used to get the $1 for about a year or more. Nothing now. not even the $3.30 anymore :(
Wont be selling anymore on ebay. Not paying 10% final value.

    • It’s 10.9% actually - don’t forget there is a 10% GST on top of the 10% FVF

      • Damn. Yeah I definitely won't be listing anything anymore. To have to pay gst is just unfair.
So if you buy an item for $3k and sell for $1000 (you'll get under $900), we're at a loss. Why do we need to get taxed again on this item? It's a ripoff.
No wonder people try to avoid tax, because they try to get their finger on everything. If you were a business selling on eBay, I get that, but as someone that wants to pass an item they have no use to someone else shouldn't need to be taxed.

  • Do I must sell 10 items to get $3.30 offer. What if I sell less than 10.

    • I think it’s “up to 10 items”

So you can sell up to 10 items and pay only $3.30 FVF for them (also they must be selling for over $50 each)

The 11th item you sell will be charged at full rate.

      • Thanks for your comment. In condtions it says "Pay no Insertion Fees and a maximum of $3.30 in Final Value Fees when you list and sell 10 items each valued at $50 or more."

Sounds like challenge is to sell 10 items $50+ to get get $3.30 offer. I just sold 1 item using this offer, I don't have 10 items to sell.

        • +1

You right. Promo apply to the first 10 items you sell $50+

  • +1

    I stopped getting anything. RIP

  • Looks like no more weekend offers at the moment.

    • Yeh. No more $3.30 offers too now!

  • I go the 3.30 offer late last week but not sure if its worth it.

Only $3.30 Final Value Fees on any items you list this weekend.*

Does that mean total of 3.30 for any items that sell that i list this weekend or only 3.30 per item max?

Plus do i still get charged a insertion fee? Or does this count against my 40 free insertions a month(or does this not exist either anymore?

    • Does that mean total of 3.30 for any items that sell that i list this weekend or only 3.30 per item max?

You will be charged a maximum of $3.30 per item as the final value fee.

No insertion fee and does not count against the 40 free insertions a month.

You must list by the end of the promo cut off time which is usually 11:59pm Sunday.
