get OfficeWorks to beat the price

    It's only $3 cheaper than their normal price… Hardly a bargain…

    Lots of poor reviews too…

    • Reviews do seem like a mix.

I don't know how good they are but hopefully will be sufficient for general office use (bought one myself but for someone else's general office work).

Don't expect them to be like mechanical kbs, but considering the price and the warranty, hopefully it'll be fair.

OfficeWorks (and others) generally have them for $58+, but I think they recently lowered it to match HN's $42 half yearly price (have been following this set's prices for the past couple of days).

      • I don't know how good they are

$42 for normal price tells me quite a bit about the quality…

        I wouldn't skimp an a good keyboard and mouse…

        • I guess practically I agree with you (as I'm typing on a Cherry Brown kb, but budget one), but mouse wise I couldn't quite get myself to pull trigger to get a Master/Anywhere 2S yet lol, my wallet is protesting profusely when I want to buy them.

Bottom line, I guess the above can serve as a middle-of-the-line rubber dome keyboard, while mouse should be mostly fine if one isn't gaming. For those in tight budgets but doesn't want a super bottom of the barrel set.

@zrmx: Using this combo at home at the moment and to be honest, it's not bad. Typing is fine for me, I could and have typed on it for hours without any issues. The mouse is very light so you might have to get used to it (A MX Master would feel like a heavy rock compared to this toy mouse) but again, a light mouse means easy to maneuver without wrist/hand strain over long periods. I would say for $39, you could do a lot worse than this set.

Edit: Have had this for over a year and had no QC issues.

They can give it for one gold coin. I brought this keyboard and felt like peddling on uphill. No soft key and hard. WASTE product.

  • Not sure on the keyboard (I think I've used it before but not sure), however I have this mouse for use with my laptop. Not to shabby.

  • Tried the keyboard today in store in HN, it is not that bad and actually quite okay (for the price and rubber dome kb).

Noise wise, definitely not as bad as a mechanical kb, can be reasonably not noisy (ultimately depends on how hard one strikes the keys).

  • I bought this combo some months ago and I am using it full time at the office.

Pros: looks nice in my opinion. It's a full standard keyboard so there's no misplaced keys and there's the multimedia keys although you need to use the function key.

Cons: the keyboard is shiny and I can see my fingerprint marks all the time so it looks a bit dirty. Sometimes I also notice some lag while typing. It doesn't happen often but it does happen sometimes. No issues with the mouse tho.

  • Can no longer edit the original post, just a note that the item is now available cheaper elsewhere for $34:
