i'd expect with the discount, they'd turn them over quicker, so you'd have a much lower chance of getting one that's been sitting there for a while…
I work there. We chuck them out after 6-8hours depending on type of oven.

How are these cooked? , normally deep fried at fish n chip shop. Havent seen the deep fryer at Coles petrol stations yet so maybe baked?

Never buy a discounted Chiko Roll.
It's served us well.
