We have a motto in my family.

Never buy a discounted Chiko Roll.

    It's served us well.

    • i'd expect with the discount, they'd turn them over quicker, so you'd have a much lower chance of getting one that's been sitting there for a while…

      • I work there. We chuck them out after 6-8hours depending on type of oven.

I prefer the motto "Couldn't you go a Chiko Roll?"
Those were the days. I miss the fish and chip shop where I lived as a kid. The poster of the leather-clad blonde on a Harley asking me that question, making me want to answer yes but not knowing the reason why…

      • The other motto was "You can't knock the roll"…interesting story behind it's origins:

"The wrap was designed to be unusually thick so it would survive handling at football matches."

          lol

  • Never had a chiko roll before… also I was expecting you to do the South Park Profit joke when I saw your steps haha…

Then you had better print the voucher and try a little peice of Australia. Make sure you get the original chiko grease tube holder, and maybe a pickled onion too.

    Staple food of the bogan.

  • Haven't had these in about 10 years! Ill grab one to see if they taste the same as before.

They haven't changed a bit…it's a guilty pleasure, but I've gotta admit to liking these & the old big Marathon Spring Rolls! ;)

You can get as many as you want in one visit??

    • Good point… it doesn't seem to say…

i guess some stores will let you, and others wont…

I thought a Chiko Roll was when you gang tackle someone into the sand after they've just come out of the water at the beach and then you put sand all over them ;p

  • How are these cooked? , normally deep fried at fish n chip shop. Havent seen the deep fryer at Coles petrol stations yet so maybe baked?

      • I've got a mental image of them rolling on the 'grilla-dog' machines! ;)

        • +1

          That's a nasty image.

      • That's a pretty low level of fat! I'm in now!

    • They are heated in the pie warmer with the pies. No deep frying

      • Ahh thanks , hmm not the same as deep fried

Always think of Puberty Blues…"go and get me a Chiko Roll…and don't take a bite!".

Love saying that to my wife when we are the beach ;)
