  • Is this good for both carpet and hardfloor?

    • yes

    • No, for hard floor you would want the soft roller head which is not available for V7 I believe.

he's asking whether this good for both carpet and hardfloor?

it is yes, as this is the multi purpose head.

  • Does it have hepa filter?

    • yes, as shown right top of the picture (blue part at the end of the head)

      • Do you think V7 Origin sold by Big W comes with the same set of accessories?

    'ace of spades'

  • If this the cheapest deal?

If anyone wana know what are the different types of V7 available , accessories included and their differences - https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v7-rev…

    • Says in that article this model doesn’t have HEPA filter :/

      • Don't believe every words the article said. You can clearly see the blue HEPA post filter attaxhed to the end of V7 Motorhead shown on Myer's webpage, while the V7 Motorhead on that article don't.

I try to summarise the features among V7 variants, correct me if there is any mistake.

        V7 Trigger V7 Cord-Free V7 Motorhead V7 Animal V7 Origin (Big W Exclusive) V7 Animal Origin (Big W Exclusive)
Wand Colour Iron Red Purple Iron Purple
        Combination Tool
        Crevice Tool
        Direct Drive Cleaner Head
        Docking Station
        HEPA Post Motor Filter
        Mini Motorised Tool
        • Can you purchase the mini motorised tool separately?

          • @sween64: There's a mini motorised head listed on Dyson site, but it does specify if it's for V7 or not, and it doesn't look like the one for V7.

            • @O O: Guess I’ll try to get a good price on a Big W V7 Animal Origin. What would you say is a good price?

              • @sween64: If we're lucky enough to see Big W put it on sale at $499 and coincide with Big W eBay 20% off event that can bring the price down to 399.20.

Bear in mind, Big W will only put a handful on eBay, so only lucy few will get it. As you can see most people miss the most recent deal.

                • @O O: And this deal is under $360 and only missing the mini motorised head. What’s that attachment even good for? Should I just get this deal?

Edit: It seems to remove pet hair from couches. I’d like that.

                  • @sween64: Or I can get the V7 Origin (same model) for $340 on Big W eBay.

                • +1

@O O: I managed to get the Big W Origin for $339.15 with PAPPY off eBay last night.

Too many models. I wonder what Dyson is thinking making it so confusing for their customers.
Get rid of the two Big W exclusive models and still there are too many.
They should keep it to 2 or 3 models: Standard base model, Standard model with accessories, and maybe a special ‘Animal pet owner’ model.

I’m thinking the range got flooded after they added the ‘hepa-filter’ on new models, in which case they should have cleared out the old ones with missing ‘hepa-filter’ and only have the new model range on sale.

        • Does the V7 Origin (Big W) come with a crevice tool? I cannot see it mentioned on the Big W website and I thought that was the only difference to Motorhead.

  • Original vs Motorhead, which one is better?
I'm looking for cordless one but V11 is out of my budget, thanks

    • How about a V8?

      • yes, I am looking at eBay for V8, $479.20

        • Is than an Animal Model? I’m hoping to get a V7 Animal for under $450.

A little known fact is that the battery for V6 and V7 lasts about 6 months, if you charge it after every use. If you use their storage bracket, which charge everytime you slot it in, the battery won't lasts long.
Call Dyson customer support when your V6/V7 won't charge and they will tell you to buy a new expensive battery Lucky ebay has cheap compatible battery.

    • Yes I have mentioned this before, if you have a basic understanding of battery health or have owned a handheld Dyson before you will have experienced how to keep your battery in good health.
Another clear and important omission from the product is a battery life indicator.

I have learned to estimate the battery on my V7 and make sure to only charge it after ~50% battery (~15mins normal use).
(With this method I was able to get a few years out of the battery from previous DC58 handheld model)
Also I use the charger only (sans dock) and plug it in, and take it off as soon as it is fully charged.

  • Is this deal worth pulling the trigger on ? Really been hanging for a v7. Or is it best to wait for the end of EOFY sales?

    • Me too, still looking at V8 version, maybe wait for EOFY sales
