The last time it was around this price I picked up 4 for gifts and they've been great!

      Damn, you're generous.

@Bargainbrother Hey Bro. its been a while u gifted me :)

Great price again. LG spoiled me with the quad DAC. Wish more manufacturers did it.

Can anyone tell me if the battery easily lasts one day with lots of wifi, 4g, bluetooth and so on? Like the S10+ would, or similar?

    • +1

Been lasting me minimum whole day with relatively heavy use.

      • Good to know. Battery was reportedly worse than V30

    pixel 3a xl dead

    • Yeah, other than camera and 3 years of updates, not real reason to get that. This is more powerful with more ram and storage. And cheaper.

  • Would Google ever decided not to support any other vendors out there in favor of its own Pixel? Why not? I would think that is a brilliant business strategy that will eliminate competition instantly.

I always thought Android is Open Source, but then it is not quite.

    • +5

google needs to have android saturate the mobile market. they make the $$$ from advertising.

    • The core Android is open source, but all the Google Play services, Google integration, Google features, etc. are not. Technically Huawei can still run android, they just can't use any of the Google functionality.

  • Can anyone please confirm if this has Dual SIM and microSD slot?

    • +1

Dual sim OR sim and microSD slot mate… However 128GB internal storage is a decent amount of space.

    • +1

It doesn't. One or the other

    • not sure if the "hack" still works, but i've see on youtube people remove only the chip of the sim card, glue it to the micro sd and have both dual sim and storage expansion work.

      • +1

Can work for many hybrid dual sim phones, but not so handy for us sim sluts lol.

  • Is the V40 any better than the V30+?

    • +2

it has a slightly better processor, better cameras and 2GB more RAM. i think most of the other specs are equal or don't deffer too much to notice a difference

      • Don't forget the extra 0.4" ( 10mm ) screen size, remembering you will get a notch and same ppi.

The V40 will also get Android 9 Pie officially, with the V30 possibly only going as far as Oreo.

        • +1

Yup for some people the screen would be worth considering the v40, however in my experience with android upgrades, all it has done to my phones was made them slower, buggy, overheat etc.

      • Screen 6.4
        5 cameras 3/2

  • With so many new phones and models, I am truly confused. In this price bracket, what/who are the contenders?

    Must haves:
    1. NFC
    2. At least 6.2” screen
    3. Dual SIM 4G/4G
    4. Band 28
    5. A screen resolution (dpi) comparable to an iPhone XS

Would luv to jump ship from iOS to android… but every time I see a “deal”, I am not sure if it’s truly a deal (ie. no buyer’s remorse from the switch from a XS Max to Android). And pls, no Huawei (at least until all this bull dust settles).

  • If anyone can share some experience in case the phone needs a fix in WA? Will have to post it back to the seller? Many thanks.

  • This or note 9 128gb?

  • +6

Not a bargain, this is 65,610 times more expensive than the last phone I bought.
