Sounds like Dick Smith all over again.

Established brands will be price controlled. Ie. Lego. We may see some good sales once in a while but don't count on it being anything more than yet another online store.

Small brands are where they can make "huge price slashes" and chances are, they are just third party manufacturing with a sticker on brand. Cheaper buying directly from AliExpress.

In other words, nothing new. Just another online only retailer like any other.

Shame they had a woeful online store before which didn't allow for click & collect. Maybe if they had opened up to more of an online presence, things would've been different.
I'm sure postage charges will hinder their abilities online

Hobby Warehouse on Ebay isn't particularly cheap compared to other stores unless during Ebay %off sales.
How is adding Toys r us branding magically make them 30% cheaper?

    • 30% of the market, not 30% off.

But as others are saying, will need to do something special to compete.

Oh thanks. Unless people have silly nostalgia for buying from toysrus (which was rarely cheap anyway and had a woeful website) can't see how they get 30% market without one or more of big stores closing eg BigW / Target.

  • Up and running, just received email from them.
