Frank Green Smart Cup 8oz $10 (Previously $24.99) at The Co-Op (Membership Required)

150

Pretty good price if you have a Co-op membership ($25 one-off fee)
Otherwise it's like purchasing a membership and getting the cup for $10.

Personally I already have enough re-usable cups, but posting here in case someone needs it.

I believe click and collect is available, otherwise postage is free for over $100 or $7.95 flat rate.

  • Everybody at work seems to have a KeepCup, any idea how this stacks up against it? Worth springing for the metal version?

      This is harder to clean

Pretty much this. They are better insulated and definitely seal better than KeepCup, particularly as they age. But cleaning these involves disassembling the whole lid housing, which is 5-6 different pieces.

      • This is soooo much harder to clean. But then again this doesn't spill when it gets thrown around in my bag so I suppose I'll live with it.

    • Get the metal one! The normal one doesn't maintain temperature, hot to touch, silicone grip is okay but pain to put into car cup holder, somehow leaks* more than the metal one. (* due to condensation and bad cap design)

I thought I gave up on Frank green until I bought the metal one.

  • Great price and good secret Santa/random birthday present. Would have bought one but can't find any stock in Qld to pick up and most colours out of stock for delivery

  • I managed to get a free one from the Cisco Live! event in Melbourne. Now I know how much its worth. I guess it was worth standing at the Google presentation for a few mins :D

Also, for anyone wondering if the cup is any good, then it sure is. Kept my coffee real hot even in about 12C weather.

You could almost say it's like exchanging $25 worth of currency for the membership rights to purchase items from a shop named The Co-Op, and then subsequently exchanging $10 worth of currency to purchase an item from said shop - in this instance said item being a container for storing and consuming coffee and other non-coffee beverages.

  • What disturbs me is the lack of lid, when you drink from it you are kinda licking the container

  • hmm, the timing…my work were selling these today under a the guise of a green future movement for $10 each, no choice in colours but they received about 1000+ with deactivated chips.

    • Chips?

      • Some variants have the ability to load payment details into the cups so you can buy your coffee via chip ala paywave

    • Interesting, why have the chips been deactivated? Your work chose to have them deactivated for some reason, or they got them discounted/free because they are faulty / deactivated?

  • I have one of these. Lured in by the vendor allowing me to chop and change colour of the base and lid to my own combination. IMO its not worth the cost.

Got one for my birthday. I hate it.

  • This was free at Westfield CBD.

  • It's a quality cup, but the lid is hard to clean, even if you disassemble the lid.

It also retains a coffee and dishwashing liquid odour after washing. I think my next will be glass.

skimmed past and this looked like a google home for $10…

  • I had one of these, very hard to clean and retains water everywhere when you assemble it.

  • Anyone have a co-op membership and willing to share? =D

    • willing to share

That’s a bit unhygienic to drink from the same cup.
