Can you pay by cheque ?

    • Why do they call it a cheque? Why not a Yugoslavian?

      • Why not a Yugoslavian?

It's too hard to learn to speak Yugoslavian.

Agreed, it's much easier to speak Checkers.

Check the best before date, Dan's often launches these discounts when they have a large amount of product about to expire. Year-old beer tastes a lot different than month-old beer, particularly when little care has been given to storage conditions.

I've bought some Urquell from Dan's a couple of times fairly recently and the dates weren't too bad. Not great though (I think late 2019). I'll be having a look later today anyway, and I agree, it's always worth checking the dates on beer — especially lagers and/or hoppy beers.

      • Expired dates on hoppy beers are still fine. Isn't that why IPA has so many hops as a preservative?

        • Over time the hop flavours in beer fade out, so if you want a beer to be as hoppy as possible you want it to be as fresh as possible.

This is beautiful beer (‘pivo’ in Czech). My favourite drop.

    Highly recommended.

  • Got a case yesterday, but had to open it up to be scanned by individual six packs to get the discount pricing. A bit bitter but I quite like it. Not bad at all. Expiry is in November.

    • Yeah, mine were November too. The bitterness is great and is part of why this is such a great lager compared to most mass produced beers imo, and when you're lucky enough to get some fresher ones they're even more bitter and are lovely.

  • $18.49, not $11!
