Absolutely stellar deal on this laptop, bought to replace my faulty Aero 15x. Dave2d's daily driver, RTX on laptops sucks, this is the sweetspot and is on a MASSIVE sale plus $300 off again.

  • Please someone from Aus feel free to submit, I can't be bothered VPNing, just wanted to share this great deal my mum's delivering to me in a few weeks :)

  • What's wrong with RTX in laptops?

    • +2

It's barely useful in 2080rtx on desktops, kills FPS too much, then the DLSS cores are useless

Then on laptops it brings FPS sub 60 on high refresh rate monitors. Ray tracing is great but first gen just isn't ready yet. 3 games in almost a year

Having owned a 2080 and played Metro Exodus this is rubbish.

And Reshade global illumination can be used on pretty much any game.

I have the 1060 model of this laptop, and holy cow the fans are loud asf, just booting up and the laptop sounds like a vacuum cleaner

    • I'm terrified of this lol you just voiced my greatest fear. If cost was no object I'd buy an rtx blade for the newer smaller nm cooler chips, but this deal saves over $1000 so I figured it was worth a few extra DB average

      • Apparently you can just change the fan speed in the software but i the minimum rpm is like 4000, otherwise the laptop is a stunner, build quality, aesthetics, cooling is decent for a laptop this thin, havnt got around to send razer a message, but they are useless….

        • use noise canceling headphones.

    • I have a 1060 equipped Blade 15 and don't notice the fans unless I'm being unrealistic with game settings while 'on the go'.

I play at reduced settings on 'quiet' mode (change modes via the Synapse software) while away, and with normal earphones, or any kind of ambient noise the fans are inaudible.

If at home, it's docked into a Core X - and again the laptop is virtually silent as the internal GPU is disengaged.
There is a very odd quirk, where you need to reduce the touch-pad sensitivity in Windows to reduce the fan noise, which has been mentioned in a few forums - after doing that the fans were about 50% quieter for me!

or buy it on amazon for $20 more, but get cashback from shopback

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Razer-Blade-15-Smallest-i7-8750H/d…

or get the 2070 version for like $350 more

    • The one you linked is a 1060 60hz. This one is a 1070 144hz. Not $20 more.

Also, cashbacks are normally capped at $50.

you're right, cant see the 1070 model on amazon

      • i purchased this one a few fays ago (2019 model, 2070 rtx)for $2849

        https://www.amazon.com.au/Razer-Blade-Advanced-Model-RZ09-02…

i have $116 cashback pending from amazon.

        • I don't know if it's worth the upgrade. If it had a 9th gen CPU, it would be.

        • Wow dammnit, nice find. I actually just bought this one, the extra few hundred is worth it for me for quieter fans from smaller nm 2070 chip. My brother wanted the 1070 model anyway so I didn't waste any money. Thanks for this!!!

    • That's only the 1060 model?

  • "Budget PC"

  • Do they have this model at Microsoft store? I think I saw some Razor gaming laptops there.
I have AMEX deal on Microsoft and keen to use on a gaming laptop.
Does anyone know if MS store (Sydney) price match others on laptops?

I don't think "non rtx" justifies this as a bargain, maybe if it was "$2000" it would be…

  • How does this compare to a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme? I've been waiting for prices to drop on the X1E (apparently the new version is coming out next month).

    • That's not a gaming laptop.
