  • Will there be cashback even if the payment is from Hey You Balance?

    • The balance needs to be loaded from a payment method like credit/debit card or PayPal. If the balance used is from a promotion then no cashback will be paid.

      • I am existing customer, made a $30 topup.. but received two $5 referral credits. What would this be considered as? I can't control which part it is paying from..

        • +3

          It will track as cashback.

  • -3

BWS Cashback excludes payment by giftcards

    • +2

This isn't true as we have a banner promoting the 5% off WISH gift cards offer on the BWS store page.

      • So confirming we can use gift cards and receive cashback?

        • +1

          Yes.

To the person that keeps reporting me as sockpuppeting for Shopback - have you noticed that I also post Cashrewards deal (as recent as 4 days ago).

If CR can do deals like this then I will post them. In the meantime, please stop doing this and making me appear as something that I'm not.

  • 100% of the time, $4 a time, once.

    • So confirming it is once only?

    • Once per time, $4, correct. But can it be used multiple times?

    • +7

$4 per transaction, no limit on transactions.

      • Seriously? Can order 5 coffees with 5 separate transactions and pay $0?

        • +1

You can, but you'll be paying for them upfront as usual first. Do note you need to click through ShopBack again each time you make a new transaction.

@gotyourback: Hi rep, I’m wondering if down the track there could be a way to save your favorite stores and then somehow receive alerts when there’s a special on? Right now I’m literally relying on someone posting it on OzBargain to make me aware of Hey You/ SB specials.

            • +1

@Chickenleg: Currently this isn't a feature but it's thanks for the suggestion! Will pass it on to the team.

Also note that you can opt in for Promotion Alerts on our app as we did also send out a notification earlier this morning about this offer.

  • Is it unlimited per user as the last promo, rep?

So I can use it a few times during the promo period?

    • +2

      Yes correct.

    • I saw this at 8.02am and posted it. Didn't know about it beforehand.

      • i mean shopback, not you

        • why wouldn't you just always use shopback for your daily coffee anyway?

          • -2

@isthisreallife22: coffee club 2 for 1 better value for me.
i check becfor 8am this morning and still show 50c, i mean if i known earlier, i would have waited until 8am to.buy.

    Thanks db!

  • awesome…..just got myself a free coffee. Perhaps a second just before lunch?

  • Awesome deal! Made 2 orders last time however I'm still waiting for one of my transactions to be tracked.

  • does heyyou even make money with all these promotions? and how do they even make money?

    • They probably don't make any money at all. it's part of the MARKETING expense I suppose. Like Uber and Amazon, changing consumers' behaviors is the crucial part of their business model. In order to succeed, they will need to BURN tons of $$ first so they can kill other competitors faster. The more $$ they can effectively BURN the better. The digital space in cashback category is getting very competitive in Australia.

SO FIRST they need to make sure they have plenty of $$ to BURN otherwise, they'll get left behind fairly quickly once majority of consumers favor one over the others.

    • Besides exposure, they also make money when you buy more than the $4 limit (e.g. extra shots, that bagel to go with your coffee etc.). Some people can't be bothered to do multiple transactions (but true Ozbargainers will!)

      • No they don't the cafe still gets the bulk of the $$ you'd have to buy a fair but for the cafe fee to cover the whole $4 (probably $40+ worth)

    • For the second question, to get to the point, it's investors. Over $10 million so far. They just need a cash injection every couple of years to pay everyone's salaries.

In startup culture the dream is for others to give up and to eventually get bought out by a billion dollar parent company due to impenetrable market domination.

    • Fun fact: Twitter, youtube, uber and netflix run at a loss of millions each year

I do love a free Friday coffee.

  • +1

P.S. WA has to redeem by 9.59am WST….

  • Really am hoping this all tracks otherwise I'm up for an expensive breakfast haha
(I do love a cheese toastie though!)

    • Update: all tracked except one (which may have been my fault for not clearing cart), fantastic!

  • Looks like Hey You has dropped Soul Origin, which was my go to place here in Penrith :(

    • +1

Generally it's the other way around, I doubt Hey You would ever be inclined to drop venues

      • Yeah, I should have re-worded myself! With Skip and other apps around it seems like they're quite desperate for customers… Looking at OzBargain it looks like they're trying really hard in Brisbane!

  • In the Hey You app you can specify the "Order Placement Time" - if I set this to a few hours ahead, then does the sale track immediately in Shopback? Any idea OP?

Too late for this deal now, but might be useful to know for the next one. Thanks.

    • there is??? I actually wasted my 3 orders coz I couldn't go to pick it up at that time. Rang the shop and they said too late, it's already made (eventhough I called literally few secs after placing the order -_-)

    • Rep confirmed last time it’s all good https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7301223/redir

  • Thanks OP, got my $50 wild turkey for around $36 when paying with wish gift card from latest shopback deal.

  • 15% on spirits was crazy awesome. It's a shame that 90% of the whisky on BWS should be classified as swill. Decided not to buy this time, but look forward to the deal coming back or possibly being with another seller

    • Macallan 12 years for $105 currently. Bought it yesterday with 5% off via WISH cards, 15% cashback. All up around $85 for a very decent drop.
